A/C Issue on 2015
I have a 2015 limited and i've been having some odd A/C issues. I normally use the system in Auto. A few weeks ago, I had the unit at 68 degrees and it was about 84 outside. It wasn't struggling to keep the car cool. Then, quite quickly, the air started warming up quite a bit and had a different smell to it (not necessarily bad or chemical smell, just different). The fan stayed at the same speed - just the air got warmer. Then, I switched it to LO and it slowly began blowing cold again - even after going back to 68. It's done this several times in the past few weeks. I took it in yesterday for an oil change and they said they couldn't find anything. They said the refrigerant levels looked normal.

Is this happening at the same time you are accelerating hard?

There is a new TSB released for 2015-some 2016 WRX's that have faulty A/C Compressor Clutches. Basically the clutch coil faults after getting overheated, take it into your local dealer and ask them to reference TSB 10-84-16
They should order up you a new revised compressor assembly. I work for a Subaru dealer and just saw this pop up today. |

Same thing happened to me this summer and just three weeks ago the dealer replaced the compressor as part of technical bulletin TSB-10-84-16R
I've had some weird intermittent electrical issues in the car over the last two years...would anyone know if this interaction of the compressor and clutch could have been contributing to it? |

I had the same issue with my AC blowing hot intermittently, mentioned it at the dealership during an oil change and all they had to do was look at the serial number on the part and saw it was part of the TSB. I was thankful that I didn't have to leave the car with them to try and chase down such an intermittent issue.

2012 Compressor upgrade to 2016?
same problem here, but 2012 not covered by TSB. I think it is same engine/configuration, just wanted to check. My compressor is 73111FJ000 and replacement is 73111FJ040. Anyone know if that will fit?
