Default 2015 WRX Killer B Motorsport Turbo Kit

The stock turbo on the 2015 WRX is great for street responsiveness, but really not much more. Bolt-ons with a pro-tune will only take you so far. So what's one to do when looking for 50, 100, or more whp gains? Turbo upgrade!

Now that we're underway, some pics for your viewing pleasure. This kit has been daily driven since November and has been a pure blast to drive!

Here's a shot from the underside with the bellypan remove for your viewing pleasure. After the kit is installed the belly pan goes back on. What's missing from this picture is our custom turbo inlet; it works with anyone's intake setup that works with an OEM turbo inlet

Twin Scroll Billet Wheeled GTX3067-R tucked nicely into the stock-ish location. OEM response and a boatload of more power anyone? Big thanks to Garrett for making OEM reliable turbos that pack a big punch!

Engineering + advanced casting technologies = CADgasm

PLOTS

- Stage I with a Cobb OTS map loaded

- Stage II with Killer B Motorsport J-Pipe, Killer B Motorsport I-Pipe, Killer B Motorsport Aftercooler, IAG TGV and EGR Deletes, and JRTuned Pro-Tune

- All of the above plus the Added Killer B Motorsport Twin Scroll Fury Turbo Kit, with GTX3067-R with dual Tial Wastegates and a JRTuned Pro-Tune

Notice the same spool as OEM with a MASSIVE gain in power

LOTS of interest on this! We'll be posting more soon. Since we've not finished reverse engineering our 'FA engine build' program, we'll be starting small with a GTX3067 twin scroll. This should still keep the engine (hopefully) from going pop, and it will provide a great comparison to our 2012 STi which we have data on using this same turbo.

This product will support any T3 Housing, can typically see ~500whp with pump fuel on the EJ25 platform.

So this will be a stock location turbo or relocated with a different exhaust manifold? I'm asking b/c I have a 2011 LGT with the similar low mount turbo configuration so I'm curious as to the possibility of fitment.

I have no idea on fitment for the LGT. Without a car here I can only speculate.

I saw that. We will have our WG ports tied in AFTER the collector for proper and equal backpressure. You will also not need to buy a header with our system as well. The OEM manifold actually isn't bad, and certainly nowhere near as bad as the previous EJ manifolds; they also need to pay attention with the OEM manifold design because it is double walled (triple if you consider the shielding) for a reason.

I'm relatively close to Waynesboro (in Roanoke) and would be happy to discuss a test fit if you are interested.

How are you adapting the housing to the stock headers for the new turbo? Or are you using the stock exhaust housing?

That's possible. I need to do more research on this as well. How similar is the turbo and turbo back exhaust to the 15 WRX?

Turbo is a low mount VF54 single scroll. From the looks of the 15 WRX exhausts that I've seen they appear to be very similar, at least in the downpipe area.

I don't mind making a trip to your shop just so you can put it on a lift and see for yourself. Anything to help the Subaru community and us Legacy guys are desperate for a turbo kit so just let me know.

With the LGT being single scroll that would be an issue. Although, assuming the WRX and LGT have the same head and spacing/bolt pattern, a WRX manifold could be used to run twin scroll.

There is one manifold on the market for 2010+ LGT at the moment. From the looks of the pics, ETS uses a twin scroll flange on their LGT manifold. This is pure speculation but maybe it also fits 2015 WRX and they didn't see any point in manufacturing it with two different flanges. Also the manifold wasn't produced until this summer after the 2015 WRX was released.

My offer is on the table to come to your shop if there is any interest.

I hope Subaru made this gearbox stronger than the old 5 speed. It's about to get a lot more power.

Some those pics, the LGT turbo change is completely different. That would mean we'd have to design and cast another turbo adapter to make this work. With how few LGTs there are out there looking to do a turbo upgrade I don't see there being enough demand for a product

I completely understand. It just doesn't make much sense from a business perspective. LGTs are definitely rare so the market for most parts just isn't there.

So your kit is going to use the OEM manifold with an adapter instead of a Killer B designed manifold?

Correct. We are attacking FA projects by bang-for-the-buck, or by which OEM parts are crappiest The OEM manifold isn't bad. It sure it's nearly as TERRIBLE as the OEM EJ manifold was. You will not see nearly the same gains as what used to be seen on the EJ engines by bolting on a header. Anyone to make such claims, should be approached with skepticism until the independent (non-sponsored) reviews start rolling in.

The other concern with the FA manifold is that is has a VERY unique design using double walled tubing (triple layers if you include the heat shielding). This is a very smart design move by the OEM for a few reasons. Designing an aftermarket product to perform better AND provide long term street and track reliability over years, is not as simple as welding stainless tubes like a traditional header. I'm sure there will be many made this way, but when the time is right we will attack that product too. Ideally, bringing a product to market that is obsessively engineered with a goal of being best performing product available.

You have my attention.

Do you plan on selling the turbo adapters by themselves?
