I was actually wondering about this just the other day. Guess I ought to send prints to my machinist for my part, if I dont hear from Chris this week.

I have a few concerns:
1) Personally I would just get the sump and would not need this. Your target customers may agree. However, I bet you sell a bunch of them "Because Racecar" 2) Are there extra moving parts and stuff to gum up or stop working? 3) Does this valve work with inertia? You mentioned it was not a "float". Changes in course or direction could allow the valve to open if abrupt enough? Even S corners where the oil would still be in the head but you just changed direction quickly? Scratch that if its some other design implicated |

Sorry for the delay guys. My boss has been whipping me to get some parts for the FA going.
The news is... like most anything, I wasn't satisfied with the first round of testing so I am changing some geometry. I don't want beta testers exposed to anything less than how I want it to perform. Next round of parts to be completed in the next couple weeks. |

2) Unless you send debris through it (which is hard to do because the ports are baffled) it will be fine. If you gum this thing up, you've got more significant problems than oil coming out of your heads 3) Correct. We're formally calling it the Vector Valve since it's operation is dependent on direction and force. A quick direction change, or s-corners will not have enough sustained force to close the valve. Say it did shut temporarily, you're still venting thought the other valve cover so you 'venting' is no different than if the line was full of oil. |

WOW! Is that part for real? Looks like Escher designed it. How did it get all those machined square internal corners? That's what it looks like to me...

I'm very interested, I already have all your products besides the header
Just a question, would this be redundant if I were to get a dry sump system? |

So it's effectiveness would depend on the dry-sump set up you run. |

hmm, cute little check ball set up!
At what angle, or 'g' relative to the valve, does the valve close passage? |

Thanks guys.
The theoretical force differs from real life due to lateral acceleration forces that come into play, plus a couple pitch degrees. In short, it will close before oil comes out the top of the valve cover Last edited by KillerBMotorsport; 09-18-2014 at 04:39 PM. |

Hrmm why didn't I see this earlier. I'm pushing about I would say 0.5-0.75 oz of fluid out of my crawford aos into a bottle after about 5-7 laps so the crawford aos is definitely seeing a lot of fluid. Would be curious to see what happens after putting in this part.

^ That's like 1/40th of a quart. Not a whole lot, but I'm curious. Why haven't you got it draining back into the engine?

When you have 'g' data and throttle/load data...one race engineer would like to know if a breather is closed or not. Engine seals everywhere want to know! Last edited by Homemade WRX; 09-22-2014 at 09:39 AM. |

If the oil is coming out of the heads. This valve should prevent that from occurring
