Jesus guys. There's threads about him all over every single car forum you can imagine..its 2016, there's no excuse for getting scammed these days. Do your homework and never ever send money orders or wire cash. Never!

Either shell out the money and buy new from vendors or pass on the deal and keep hunting if its too good to be true or seems shady.

Would you rather wait an extra month to source your part or get robbed?

Would you rather buy new at retail or get robbed?

Two more people just got scammed by him already this month on this site. He's under bigalwrx now. How are you people so naive. It's 2016. If it's not a straight forward PayPal sale, just pass on the item. Who cares if you have to sit around and seacrh threads for another two months. It's better than getting robbed

Rogue you may want to look into the google wallet thing and ban it like PayPal gift payment. Seems that's his way of taking money if they won't wire it

Can't ban any particular payment method, as much as I'd like to. I mean, I COULD, but they're just hollow words.

We post rules and guidelines for how people take payments, but all too often these scams are done via PM followed by txt messages or other means. We've put up plenty of guidelines to keep people safe, but as you point out new users are always showing up and are MORE than willing to throw their money away on a deal that's too good to be true.

I banned this user, as I've banned others. We have rules and guides. But users are still going to fall for scams every day, and all we can do is keep banning the scammer accounts.

its like that cup half full or cup half empty thing, did he steal it.... or did *you* GIVE it to him. sometimes we need to look in the mirror and see where the blame falls. If people smarten up , he doesnt get any money. Its up to the community to watch out for each other and to educate one another on how to do business safely. Thats why there are plenty of threads on this guy all exposing his tricks of the trade. You cant blame him for being a successful conman, you can only blame yourself for not protecting yourself.

i just emailed someone on this site with no feedback about a granador strut bar. super rare, super nice, at an amazing price. when he emailed me back his name on the account was "joe *****itall".

he sounded nice and sincere and showed me pics but i decided to pass because what honest respectable guy would use that as his email name??

no matter how badly you want something, sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and pass when somethings shady.

Sure, but it's different when the guy knows a lot about subarus, is patient, gives you real companies he "deals with" and a real invoice for everything. He's a professional. He's been doing this since 2009 according to Miami Dade police detectives. They're still looking for him because he leaves no paper trail.

Yeah, he's a thief. It's not your fault. It just sucks that he continues to operate.

Sounds odd but I had a flawless transaction with him for a VF52.
I asked for his address, all of his info, and I had money for a plane ticket if anything went wrong.
He made a video of the turbo with no shaft play and when I received it, it looked unsused and felt in the condition it was promised in. 1k miles on it no issues, no shaft play etc.
Who knows, anyone else have good transactions? Not sticking up for anyone but I'm just curious.
Could be because I threatened him and knew where he lived.

Threats may have helped.

Clearly the guy should be avoided, but he's just one of the thousands of scammers out in the world. EVERYONE needs to use caution.

I had a post up looking for an ets exhaust, On Jan 20th 2016 a phone number(17863689015) from miami florida contacted me and said he had the exhaust, sent me pictures and wanted 800 shipped to me in massachusetts. He called me on the phone and said his name was David (seemingly nice man) I talked him down and we agreed on a settled price of 650$, A week later(jan 27,2016) I sent him the money via google wallet and it said the money was sent to a Jason Castellano out of Miami florida so I was like wtf I thought this guys name was david. He uses legit registered cell phone numbers to make his scams more believable. I typed his name in google with the subsearch scammer, numerous records of him came up, to include over 10 years of scamming online car parts buyers like you and me. He immediately blocked my phone number, Google Wallet was contacted by me and they are doing an investigation because all accounts are supposed to have proper background checks done on them. I also called the Miami/Dade police economics divsions as well as filed a complaint on the fbi website ( Ic3.gov ). I only post this to warn you guys as I do not want to see anyone else fall for the scam. Shame on me for not doing more research but it is what it is. His current name on Nasioc is Da1mScoob.

Update: He has a new username of dadescoobA, phone number 1(786)374-7251. He sent me a text after I posted a WTB looking for a vf34. Texted me the next day and we talked about the condition of the turbo. He sent me some pictures from [email protected] with the name of Greg Perez. I asked him if he would lower the price if I covered the paypal fees. He went on about how doesn't like paypal because he has to wait 7 plus days to use the money. I looked it up and it doesn't take nearly that long, 3-4 days according to pay pal. He asked me if I could use square cash and I said I will only pay with paypal. He then asked if I could send it to him as a friend and he sent me his email of [email protected] and so I google searched his email and this thread popped up. Thank you for this thread guys!

And his registered email address was [email protected]

He's just inventing names now.

Banned.

And, as always: don't send money to brand new users with no feedback and no post history!

I have an open case with the Dade Miami Police Department's lead Detective, if anyone wants to send me information on a recent case, please PM me. This guy has an incredibly long history of crimes behind him... decades, literally.

Wow that guy has a history. There are reports on like every car forum with his name saying to avoid him. Yikes. Gotta always be careful when buying and selling online! It is crazy that the reports go back 10 years of him scamming people.
