Default IBR modular intake manifold

IBR's modular intake manifold is certainly unique looking. The red portion adds plenum space over top large velocity stacks. The manifold provides "shower-style" port injection into the top of the bell mouth to get the most phase change and cooling benefits from ethanol for the intake charge. This should provide good gains over their BRZ intake manifold kit. They will be releasing further details and power gains "soon". Price starts at $1,499. Available in December 2019. Other powder coating colors will be available.

The shower-style fuel injection is popular in motorcycles and F1 engines. By injecting the fuel at the top of the the plenum it allows for more time to cool the intake charge and better fuel atomization (air/fuel mixing). The cooler, more atomized intake charge should provide better combustion, more power and less pre-ignition/detonation.

Hopefully an easier solution is developed for the electronic control of the secondary injection.

They will also be releasing an EJ version.

Pretty sure it would fit the stock hood, not sure any aftermarket hoods offer more clearance anyways? Maybe Varis'

I'm a total newb on secondary injectors, are they always on? Can they be activated at a certain boost level or throttle %? Or are they just always dumping a crap load of fuel in no matter what.
Not sure how the current BRZ manifold works and if this would change anything with the secondaries

And do the secondary injectors' fuel controller talk to the flex fuel sensor or the Cobb AP to inject fuel based on ethanol content?

Should help prevent carbon/gunk build up on the valvetrain too...

Considering guys are putting the brz manifold on a wrx, I'm sure it'll fit a FA24. Come on man Subaru's are like lego's

I feel like this will be more benefit to Built block rather than stock.

gonna have to relocate the oil filter by the looks of this shot... new FMIC piping routes as well. I wonder how many other parts have to be relocated and the final cost ends up being with all the required changes to make this fit and work properly? Yes I assume it would be a waste of time and $$ for this on a stock block as for much cheaper you can get WMI to help clean the valves.. This, IMO, is when you rock a much larger Turbo and need added fueling (which would take the power beyond stock block internals threshold). keep the info coming...

Jerry at the Wawa parking lot gonna **** his pants when I pop my hood and he sees these two candy apple tanks!

Interested to see what the 1% can do with these, a built block, and a Motec.

yep pretty much can't use it that well without that Motec... as Ron posted a while back.. want port injection.. gonna be a good 14 - 15k if you are lucky.. (oh yeah that's without building the block or buying the larger turbo, headers, fabrication required.. oh yeah forgot you need that huge FMIC and custom piping.. well damn now we are at around 25k - 30k ... yeah I stopped modding mine! Regardless of where you are 99% or 1%.. its just dumb math.. you get very little for your $$ power wise (we still DON'T have larger cams and at 2lts who are we kidding) gonna pay for some kids college funds instead!

and if you already have the previous BRZ manifold how much better will that be?? 10hp / 15hp.. not worth it IMO

a bit late to the game

Hmm we’ll have to see, I have all the bolt ons, including big turbo... I did not have the BRZ manifold installed yet so went for this with fuel injection in mind for the future.

I have been at 383 for that’s 30k or so... I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes me.

I gotta say I'm not sure what the appeal of this is unless you are going for big numbers. Doesn't the nostrum HPFP support around 600whp? If that's true then this manifold seems pointless unless you are going for higher than that.

It would only make sense for the big power builds with the added ports, there would be no real benefits on any other moderate build. Unless......your like me and you have this really nice engine bay with some goodies under the hood and then....you have this cheap looking plastic manifold lol. The stock plastic manifold is such an eyesore in my opinion. I would definitely be all over this because it's a beautiful looking piece that would really dress it up nice but not $1500 nice.

Totally agree. Which is why I’ll probably go with the BRZ red intake manifold. I’ve thought about having a bracket made so I can mount my catch cans off those tabs along the backside of the brz manifold.

I think the red wrinkle BRZ manifold does look a little better, just looks like it belongs there. I’m sure you would be able to get some custom brackets made to relocate your catch can. This is probably one of the most expensive mods as far as bolt on you can do. The manifold and the Ibr relocation kit, front mount if you don’t already have one, custom piping or the ETS cold side kit, plus the tune. Not cheap but the setup sure would look awesome.
