Default 2011 Subaru WRX STi Limited Sedan 1080p and stills, near Mt. Hood.

Yesterday WorldRallyChris and I took a trip in my 2011 STi. We took the GoPros and a tank of gas to the base of mt.hood, sorta.

I was editing the video and wishing that I had some good music (and the right to post it) for the video. Our very own TurboTurel hooked us up with his band Imaginary Airship.

I posted the results of that video, as well as some sick stills (thanks again WorldRallyChris) on my blog at http://SubaruShawn.com

EDIT: This video was shot on closed roads, with permission of the local authorities.

careful with the e-brake man, i know it disconnects the center diff on the sti but its still probably not the best idea to pull it to initiate slides frequently. good job on not being afraid to play in the dirt though!

I thought there was a ban on talking about cruises/posting videos of yourself being an asshat on public streets?

Way to contribute to our community, bro.

First off, I'm not your Bro... if I were, I would slap you for your the way you define asshat.

Second.... you might want to fact check your post. These videos were shot under an agreement with the proper authority, including an agreement as to the safety measures required. I do this for a living.

You think that is a good way to talk to people on a vendor account that represents a major business that I don't think you own?

Please elaborate on how you get permission to go tear up a public road for a 1 minute YouTube video. I would love to be able to have this privilege.

I dont see any mention of this being done under "controlled conditions" so AWD>FWD's assumption makes logical sense to me... I would assume the same thing.

You are right, I was trying to make a joke about the Asshat comment, but it did not translate to text. I am sorry.

The way that you get permission to 'tear up a public road' is to support grassroots rally for years and then ask your local rally orginizers who their contacts are to get road closures for their events, then contact those people and explain that you want to do a promotional video, would like to know what hoops to jump through. In most cases, they are happy to help as long as you take whatever safety measures they request.

Ok.

Yes I know who you are and I know that the dealership is very involved, whether it be holding meet and greets with the drivers or probably throwing lots of money and time into the Olympus rally over the years. This is not a rally event however and I think people just found it a little suspect that a road would be shut down for only one person.

Maybe next time you get a road closed, invite some of us.

If proper permission was obtained and this was a closed course it is a sick video. I saw you at the Rally X just a little bit after you got the '11 and that takes some balls to beat on it like that.

So, you're going to come on the internet and threaten to assault a potential customer.

I'm sure your boss would be so proud.

It's funny that you mention that. We are trying to figure out the best day for a 100% gravel video shoot with Comcast and the 'race drivers club' where anyone with the time (and the correct safety equipment) can have some fun in the gravel while we are doing the promo. All we are waiting on now is for Comcast to confirm the date to send out the 'spotlight' van to capture everything, so we can ensure that it's ok with the county.

It was a failed joke, not to be taken as a threat, and I am sorry. It was ment to sound playful, and it did not.

"First off, I'm not your Bro... if I were, I would slap you for your the way you define asshat."

The above is a hypothetical scenario so by saying he "threatened to assault a potential customer" makes you seem ignorant because the entire statement is based on a fictional scenario.

And my 2 cents: GET A LIFE awd>fwd seriously, who wastes time complaining about something that has absolutely zero relevance to his or her life??

I find it hard to believe that these roads were shutdown just for you to shoot a little video.

Keep in mind it's doubtful that what you see in this video is all that was filmed.

And AWD>FWD has a point.. AWD is better than FWD

Oh I'm sure they shot more but they only included 2 spots. But why would the local authorities waste time and money for two average people to come out and shoot a youtube video? So I doubt they actually had it closed.

HAHA oh I'm totally with him on that point, but his obsessive compulsive critiquing of other people's actions is a detriment to the "fun" factor of the thread imo.

But hey I guess some people get off on that sort of thing

I mean does anyone seriously believe his intent was to harm others in the making of this video?

And finally, more power to anyone who has the balls to play with a brand new car in that manner, I bet it felt awesome!
