Default Dead ecu after welding on header

2005 Forester XT MT

I had a muffler shop cutting out flex pipes on my header. When I get the car back it has a p0032 code after clearing and even if o2 is unplugged. So how do I figure out if it’s the sensor or ecu. I lean towards ecu, I’ll go into romraider and check the o2 data, try a reflash and delete the p0032 so I at least get my boost control back. I’m running openloop all the time showing 13.4:1 off boost, so no danger as of yet.

Its not the ECU, they probably damaged the sensor or the wiring for the sensor. Ive done weld repairs on multiple dozens of cars and have never ever had a single electrical issue with one.

I’ll start with o2, nothing wrong with a fresh o2 sensor either way. The cell is on but it hasn’t disabled the boost controller. In boost is the only place it’s acting normal. Only thing it’s doing is running a point rich where it would normally be in CL.

Also the sensor wires were bare from welding of him not unplugging it and letting wires spin while removing the o2, so ecu was prob damaged from heater wires touching.
