Default STi swapped Forester WONT START!

Ok, hey there subie Fam....plain and simple, short n sweet as possible for now....I just finished swapping everything from the wiring harness, dash, blue seats & carpet, ECU, LSD/6spd drivetrain, evvvvverything down to the seatbelts from my 05 STi, into my 06 Forester (base model A/T) I rebuilt the EJ257 before installing. With new pistons/rings/bearings etc, brand new turbo, clutch, axles, brakes...and so on! And after 2 months of hard work, I went to fire her up for the first time tonight and it just cranks and cranks and sometimes spits and sputters like she wants to fire, but never does! Although it was exciting to hear her crank over it was frustrating to see only 50psi on a compression test, is this bad!? Or is 50psi on all cylinders normal before an EJ25 is fired for the first time? I have fuel, air, and timing right! I'll try to load up some pix when i can but just curious if I effed up somewhere and should have wayyyyy more psi than 50psi!? I was hoping to see atleast 100+ psi before the rings seat correctly....any advice is very greatly appreciated as Im trying to do this on my own in a dirty ol driveway in the backwoods of PA haha and could use a little assistance if anyone has any input! If I forgot to mention any important details dont be afriad to yell at me haha ill gladly let ya know!

Yes is should have more PSI than that, I would be looking at timing marks again

Reheck the timing marks, make sure double lines are pointing at each other, single line is straight up on top cam. And crankshaft mark is at correct place (not at tdc)....The correct camshafts and gears are in the correct place (Left Inake, Left Exhaust...)

And were the heads rebuilt, were the valve clearances checked ? If the cams were off, where the lifter buckets put back in the same location were they were removed ?

After that, if no improvement, do a leakdown test, see where the compression is going.

MY05 STi is a year they they went to the immobilizer. Did you also swap the keys and ignition cylinder from the steering column to the Forester and/or bypassed it?

I usually don’t even check compression before I have heat cycled the engine a couple times. The rings don’t take immediately. And it would start with 50 I believe. Check wires and put a datalogger on there and see what sensors are reporting.

Sorry for delayed response, I've had a busy week my grandma just passed and I haven't had time to work on it but I double check the belt and timing marks and everything seems Dead on! I tried to be as proactive as possible installing a brand new starter, turbo, clutch, pistons/bearings/rings, plugs, gaskets, etc.... I agree very much so about it heat cycling, I usually don't check compression either before a motor has been fired but for some reason I did! Just some other things to mention, I installed a nice used but cleaned/decked set of B25 cylinder heads, the ebay alum. Radiator and fan setup isn't in or wired up yet but I don't think that should matter, the intercooler was not on the first time but I did put it on the second time I tried to start it, I just want to see if the motor fires with the bare minimum right now....and the only type of Data logger I use so far was an OBD2 scanner which reported no codes, I haven't even bleed the clutch yet so it sinks to the floor but should be enough to trigger the clutch pedal switch , and yes the keys and lock cylinder are both from the STI oh, the entire steering wheel and column assembly.....thank you soooo much for everyone's feedback it is greatly appreciated please don't be afraid to point out anything that my dumbass might have missed or overlooked haha!

With ur datalogger, can u see info coming from the maf, map, temp sensors, when u crank it can u see the rpms change in the logger? Make sure fuel lines are correct, pressure to press and return to return. You will figure it out, don’t let it stress u out.

I still need to get a data logger ***128527; I got one ordered rt now cuz my crappy lil obd2 code reader aint cuttin it on this one haha and yes i agree, I kinda figured it was foolish to get all wound up over 50psi on a motor that hasnt even fired yet, I still havent gotten much of a chance to fiddle with her! Other things to mention: I ran a braided 6AN return line from the oem fuel rail right to the fuel pump assembly (oem 05 STi unit) bcuz the Forester didnt have that third hard line in under the driverside rocker panel carpet, and used both stock FPR's on supplh and return, so hopefully I did all thaf correct, im getting fuel, plugs were wet and gapped decent, est. .030 when I pulled em! I do think my 7 yr old Optima Red Top is about shot and Im gonna buy a new one this week, could that be an issue as well if sensors arent getting enough voltage? I even tried cranking over with a hard start jumper pack and still no luck, cranks for about 10sec then slowly dies off, maybe my battery is totally effed!?
