Default FB20B Parts? FB/FA Frankenstein?

Alright, I'm no "noob" when it comes to engine building but I'm no master either, I've built some Honda motors, and a handful of EJs, a few months back I picked up a 2014 Impreza 2.0i 5MT (14k miles, quite a steal) Buddies say I should have got a WRX/STI but for various reasons, that purchase wouldn't be optimal.

Either way, I have a long term plan for this Impreza, aside from the usual mods, (exhaust, suspension , ect..) I ran across the AVO turbo kit for the car, now its apparently a full bolt-on w/ ecu and base-map tune, however If I go this route I'd like to get the most out of it, and naturally the first thing that comes to mind is to lower the compression, increase boost, and run 93, or if I get real ambitious, E85.

I barely recall someone mentioning that Crawford makes forged pistons for the FB20, but its a made to order item you have to call them for. (its not on their website) But, at that point, building the short block would be warranted. I just cant find any parts for the motor, which I worried might be the issue, the FB family wasn't designed to be a performance motor, and none of the USDM variants came turbo, (or JDM, but someone might have to fact check me on that) but that kills the aftermarket support.

Now, I know the FB and FA motors are similar, at least more similar then the FB/EJ, Has anyone tried to Frankenstein some parts together (referencing the EJ20/25 Frankenstein motor) , does it work? My main goal here is to lower compression, factory it sits at 10.5 .
I believe a good goal would be around 9.0-9.5 but it would be best in the 8's

Thanks!
