573.5 is 570 to most people, not 574 and 501.8 is 500 to most people, not 502.

You are talking about numbers that can shift a bit based on temperature or other conditions.

I'm just sayin'

I used my onboard computer to datalog a 3rd gear pull today.

Elevation: 50 feet
Temp: 75F
Humidity: 44% (taken off the weather network)
2009 STI, oem wheels and tires.
AVO panel filter + Grimspeed AOS (everything else is stock)

Max whp: 258 @ 6400 rpm
Max wtq: 262 @ 4090 rpm (18.57 psi boost)

Torque curve sits just on top of 250 from 3500 - 4700
Torque @3K rpm, 205 and betters that all the way to redline

I'm quite pleased with those figures considering its only an OTS stage 1 tune.

Dyno plot was done using the Airboy spreadsheet.
Soon I'll have the plots embedded in the onboard computer.

Have you put your car on RR's dyno with the current setup? I am curious to see how Airboy's spreadsheet compares.

Those are really good numbers though for a state 1 tune

For your STi should try to do the 4th gear pull for the more accurate dyno data
since 4th gear will give you the max engine load under full boost.

We normally do 3rd gear pulls on WRX and LGT, and always 4th gear for STi.

I hit max load at 2500 rpm.

The car has not been on the RR dyno (at least it has not been logged on the dyno). As this was the first 09 tune, Pat put it on the dyno to double check there was nothing new in the ECU and make sure everything was smooth. He certainly managed to do that. Delivery is smooth and, in S#, the car is eager to stretch its legs.

The expectation was that the car was making 260whp and that's proved to be accurate. At some point I would like to verify that the plots I get are consistent with the spreadsheet macros but that's not a priority.

I can now log it any time I want to compare results. 4th gear is a little trickier because you cover quite a bit more ground and need more space. I'll try 4th gear soon though to see the differences.

I did switch between I and S# modes to compare and the max torque is the same but the max whp is down by 10.

60mph-80mph: 3.01 secs
50mph-80mph: 4.20 secs
3rd gear maxes out at 83mph.

Yes please do the 4th gear pull on S## mode, prepare for about 9~11 secs accel. time,
and you will hit 175km after the pull since GRB has the same gear ratio as 07 STi.

Have fun and good luck.

Got my car back from RR last week. Looking good for a 2004 WRX with 100K miles on it. Running a Dom 1 Turbo and APS FMIC and a bunch of other goodies.

Next I need some go straight and stop fast parts from Dales. In a 3rd gear pull I kind of feel like I'm slalom water skiing.

Nice HP, If you eventually go to a 2.5 block you could get those torque numbers closer..

Didn't someone say that a Dyno plot where the axis aren't crossing at ~5300 RPM is broken?

Why are they crossing at 1000RPM less on the plot above?

Hi all,

A few of you are aware that I have been planning to do a little work on my car on the power end of things. I brought my car down to Maxwell Power Services in Arlington because I had heard many good things about Dom and his crew from both the NWIC and the VIC boards. I definitely was not disappointed.

Graph:

Mods:

WRX drivetrain
Blouch 16g-xt turbo with PNP
Modded WRX injectors
Walbro fuel pump
CSS large TMIC
RR Catless Up-pipe
Agency Power Headers
Maddad 2 piece - Catted Downpipe
3"--> 2.5" intermediate pipe with Prodrive oval-tip axleback
Perrin PWI-1 Meth injection (50/50)
Stock box with K/N filter & Zerosports Intake elbow
Dom Tune

Not sure what program Dom uses, but it is open source.
