Default 2016 STI - Looking to upgrade the LCA's

Hey everyone,

Wanted to make a post as I wasn't netting very good results on the Googles, so figured might be worth throwing it up here.

Currently, I own a 2016 STI that's become more of a dedicated track car, than my daily, and I'm looking to upgrade from my SPC LCA's to a Spherical Bearing LCA.

Right now i'm looking at Verus LCA's & SPL LCA's.

The one thing that i'm still confused on is the benefit of the multiple mounting holes that the SPL's offer. The Verus LCA's do not have these extra holes.

In short, really just looking for input from users that have used either of these and maybe some suggestions on which would be preferred.

I'm also running into an issue with the driverside LCA where the headlight level rod interfers with placing my rear sway bar on HARD. Has anyone worked around this or found a fix for this? Can post pictures if needed, but for now here is the car at Laguna.

The different mounting points (left to right) will allow you to change the motion ratio of your swaybar or springs, effectively making them stiffer or softer.

The up and down mounting points for the shock would raise or lower the car, and if you adjusted your coilovers would mean you could change the bump to droop travel ratio of your shocks.

For the swaybar up and down mounting points...I guess it's just to get fitment right with adjustable swaybars?

More things to tweak/adjust, if you're into that.

The SPL's are nice if you want that extra suspension adjustment. The Verus LCA is a nice piece too but I've always strayed towards Cusco's LCA. Mainly because their pillowball bushing is SEALED which is something you don't see often. Also, no issues in terms with headlight leveler and swaybar rubbing.

From one track subie to another, hope this helps narrow your decision

For sure, thank you for that explanation. So....

I may need to look into this, i'm not sure I've read up on changing the bump to droop travel ratio and what it does. I can adjust my coilovers, but the most i do is preload them to manufacturer spec, then ride height to desired, making sure the control arms do not go past level.

I have had SPL lower control arms for a few years now, they work great for getting your desired camber adjustments. The TIC headlight lever mounts up no problem as well. I do not have many miles or any track time on them either but they do look as good as the day I installed them, no squeaks either.

Also I think the extra holes on the SPL are for adjustable endlinks for the sway bar.. I could be wrong though.

Would the SPL's allow me to mount this sway bar on hard? it seems the SPC LCA's i have now, along with the SPL endlinks i'm currently using, would be stressed too much trying to get it to work. While my car isn't all that much lower, looks like either i would need to raise it up a bit or would the SPL LCA's lower mounting hole in their LCA allow me to better mount the endlink in the Hard location on the bar?

Did the SPL endlinks not come with different spacer options for the bottom? Ideally you'd be able to move the positioning of the endlink in the front/rear direction to match the sway.

I don't think having additinal mounting holes in the up/down or lateral directions will help you (other than being able to increase the leverage of the bar on the control arm when moving the mount out laterally).

Unfortunately, they did not.
