Corner workshop is getting there. Just need to get some metal pegboard, vise etc to make it complete.

Suspension is removed from the 993, awaiting bbi billet uprights, mcs coilovers, RS adjustable sway bars, adjustable control arms and monoball bushings all round.

Finally got around to buttoning everything up just in time for my tuna appointment on Wednesday. Quarantine hasn’t been good for me physically since I haven’t been able to go to PT or my chronic pain doc since February there’s been very few days I’ve been able to spend under and over a car. Still have to finish the interior and install the new one piece driveshaft and fab some brackets to mount the oil cooler but it’s ready to tune. 350whp would be very nice for now until I get my E85 setup. Also thinking of running ECUtek when that happens since it’s really my only option other then open sourcing for this model. Really like the thought of Bluetooth capability to monitor from my phone as well as running my motor more efficiently and safely.

7 years of collecting discontinued, rare parts and high end parts now. Its been a fun adventure. It’s finally starting to look like I want but now I’m bothered by the white engine bay. I’d love to paint this car millennium jade.

while we all have our favorites... that red was one of my favorites. if i remember correctly it came out just after i bought my used '97 L in '98. i think the first time i saw it was on the '99 2.5 RS's? so damned pretty.

I like that color a lot too. Not more the aspen white though.

Nice WRX.

Every time I get under mine I find new stuff to fix.

Next on my list: steering rack and pinion .

Already on my list: HVAC blower motor relay, passenger side valve cover seal, tires and windshield.

My front toe is super out of alignment and camber needs to be corrected as well. I've been so busy and I haven't had a garage until recently, that I've been neglecting the car. Not that I have it in the budget right now anyway with Covid 19 throwing a wrench into all my plans.

Using up vacation time today. This was the only side of the house that didn’t have a motion light. I’m no electrician but I get some sideline coaching from the guys at work. Wasn’t that difficult once I found a live power in the attic but holy hell it got hot up there real quick, should’ve started a few hours earlier this morning.

So, found out today after some testing, that the wiring between my AC relay and my compressor clutch is bad. That wiring is in a loom with a bunch of other stuff and will be annoying to deal with. So I have decided that since the Impreza is the rally cross car, it can be ugly. I have some extra wire laying around an extra fuse holder. Would a 10 amp fuse be correct for the AC? I'll be wiring directly from the battery to the switch I'll ugly into the cabin, and then back to the AC clutch harness.

Steamer trunk I'm building is almost done. Should have it finished by the end of the month. Should have paid more attention to which boards had which color (some more yellow) vs. which boards had the most figure. Live and learn. But pretty happy with how it's turning out I'll post pics when finished.

20amp.

The clutch normally is going through a relay that tends to be fused for 20amp +. If you still have the fuse block and its cover check that for what was originally there. I got five nasioc bucks on 20amp.

I looked up third party relays and they ranged from 20amp to 55amp. I went with 20amp because I am cheap. So far, so good. Lines are not heating up, fuse didn't blow. I have some pics of good ol' redneck job below (prepare to cringe). It's a temporary lines as I was racing thunderstorms.

THe next problem, 14 year old system seems to have a leak, as the air is definitely warmer today than it was last night after recharging. Yay

I did such a great job, it looks lik eit is factory made

Finished the trunk. Made some mistakes. But overall I'm pretty happy with it. Probably give it to my friend in a week or two pending how long it takes air out.

haha the whole wires around the door trick! been there. I don't know what experience you have but it's pretty easy to get through the rubber boots like where the wiring harness goes through, sometimes by where the steering shaft goes through....sometimes there are a couple blank rubber plugs you poke a hole in, etc.

Steve got my truck back to me, but of course not on time again. Rear disc brakes. He said it was weird when the ABS was learning, but works fine. I drove off and went someplace where I could stop hard, and heard a whoosh at the bottom of the pedal, and the ABS light went on. After turning it off and on the light when off, but whoosh and on. I took a look at the ABS controller, and the vacuum hose was off. One that had a pill-like connector, but it was pretty obvious. It had to have been when someone was adding brake fluid, it's like 8" away and where you would hold the bottle to add. Dufus.

I've been looking for used tools. But also I am trying to not have stuff, so it's not going very fast.

Bah. Buy stuff. Fill your house with stuff. Then when you're house is full of stuff, buy bigger house so you can have room for more stuff.

I think Steve ****ed you pretty raw here and gave you one hell of an STD that's going to kill you. What year is your truck? (I swear I've seen you say 1988 and 1998)

over the past month I have been converting a raised bed by my house. originally, this raised bed had all sorts of nice flowers, and vegetables growing in it. over the years it transformed a bit into an overgrown herb garden, I affectionately called 'The Dagobah system'.

my wife was not fond of the dagobah system, so I set about the task of removing all of the dirt (about 1.5' x 5' x 8', or just over 2 cubic yards) and rotted out wooden border. at the same time I began installing cinder blocks to create 2 elevated/terraced areas where I can put pots with plants in them. at the moment it is a bit bare, I'm still up in the air whether I want to stain the cinderblocks, at the moment they are very sterile looking.

I'll miss the dagobah system, but this will be overall better use for the yard and open things up a bit more as we move the pots to this new space.
