Default Cargo Cover Stain? Removed Paint trying to clean! Help!!

Hi, title says it all. Bought the car anf it had a dark (grease?) Stain on the cargo cover. Tried some light Simple Green- didnt seem to help but paper towel was turning black. Figured it was picking up the stain.

Sprayed with more Simple Green and tried to let it soak for around 15-30 sec and then rub out. Bad idea... this morning I saw that the cover had lost some color and was there light grey/white. ****! Also the stain was still there.. ****!

Anyone know what to do? I was hoping to get that stain with some Tuff Stuff upholstery cleaner (learned my lesson with Simple Green on the interior).
I read some forums saying these covers are nylon/Cordura material. Some people suggested just spray canning it black with some Rustoleum nylon paint and others using Mother's Back to Black on it. Not sure what Back to Black would do on fabric though...

Help? Want that damn stain out and color back without having to replace it 100%.

Suggest cleaning with a dedicated fabric clean, spray on, agitate with medium bristle brush, and wipe up with towel. If you have an extractor your results may improve.

Alright. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out.

Forgive the repost.
Tried an upholstery brush with some Tuff Stuff. No dice.

All it did was scratch up the fabric, so now I have to shave it back smooth (shame).

Any other ideas?
