Intermittent / rotational brake squeal - Track Pads
Car:
2016 STI Brand new Black Rotors Brand new G-Loc r12/r10 F/R Did a track day at the end of September and am doing one next weekend. I've developed and had (over the past 2 weeks) noticed a very audiable brake squeal coming from both front wheels. This squeal is the same pitch and tone as when i'm braking with my foot pressing the pedal. However, it's completely in sync with the rotation of the wheels and is more a quick chirp. The pads were bedded in properly, they are not worn down, i cleaned everything when i installed them and greased properly (Did not add brake quiet gel). Normally i would have changed back to my DD pads, but with another even 3 weeks later i felt it was fine to be lazy as i don't drive this car far to work (maybe a couple miles each day), but i want to make sure the brakes are fine and there isn't any potential issues. The wheel bearings are good, and the CV boots perfect. Wanted to see what people had to say about the chirping during normal driving and without the brake pedal pressed. It essentially is going off during all driving and continues a rotational volume audiable level during braking (When pressed really hard, the squeal is more consistent) I never pull the E-brake after a session either and there's no visual indication that a pad was "baked" into the rotor. Anyways, it may just me being paranoid and i know track pads squeal like a mofo, it's just the fact that they're squealing without being engaged by my foot. |
