Default Do Forester Seats fit into a WRX?

I'm looking for a more comfortable seat for a WRX i'm interested in.

Anybody know? Anyone ever do a swap?

IMHO, the Forester seats are definitely not more comfortable.

The 02/03 WRX seats were much better than my XT's. I drive from NJ to SC a few times a year and always get an achy back in my XT. Not so when I had the Rex.

Well lets put it this way. The Seat cushion of the WRX seat has a narrow medal frame that my legs sit on top of, not between. This makes my legs fall asleep, part of the problem of having long legs and having to one's knees on the sides of the steering wheel when one drives.

I test drove a used '02 WRX several months ago. I test drove an '05 Forester XS with the leather seats too. I have an '02 Forester. I don't recall a difference in the seats...sure there was...a little more bulstering on the sides probably.

As far as the seats in our cars, they definately don't catter to the long legged, heck regularly legged people, all that much. I'm just under 6 feet and of normal build, and I too wish the seats were a little longer. They end way too early and have very little for leg support. It really is the worst aspect of the seats. It's odd that Subaru makes them wide enough for a "well nurished" person, but the length and height seem meant for someone barely 5 feet tall.

I don't think you'll come across a better seat. Going older seems to get worse too. A 2000 or 2001 model of the Forester had slightly different seats. My "02 is better. I think the WRX ones were better than that. If you want something truely good, I'm affraid you'll pretty much have to look at aftermarket seats. Then just try to look for one with a lot of cushion and feature(adjustments), not sure how much you'll find in the aftermarket area though. I'd think Reccaro, Sparco, or whatever other manufacturers out there will have less "race" oriented versions that would provide very good(better than current) support and still offer features like recline, lumbar adjustment, and such.

The 02-03 seats are ok, I was thinking of swapping back my old 02 Forester seats back in. The passenger is very uncomfortable on long rides.

I think the 03 and up Forester have more sportier seats that conform better than the previous year.

Hi, I know this is a very old post..but new member and it wont let me start my own thread to ask a simple question.. and this is all I have found from searching. Anyway, I have an 04 Impreza outback sport. My interior is pretty much trashed. Local yard has a really nice 05 turbo forester I can get the interior out of for a steal. Will front, rear seats, steering wheel and carpet be swappable into my impreza? Thanks

If the Impreza seats fit the Forester and most do, then they should bolt in no problem. Heres what the Forester people have been using from Impreza's, WRX's, and STI's. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...-thread-53142/

The height of the forester seats will be higher. Also, i dont think the rear will swap either.

I swapped 05 wrx seats into my 05 fxt and they sit lower
