How much is a STi rear diff worth?
I have a real STi ver. 7 rear differential that has the Sti gearing and stronger parts--bolt in with the right parts.
How much is it worth if someone wanted to buy it?

I thought it would be closer to $1000 since it is "New" from Japan.
It even has the marker from the factory hand written on the bottom of it that says "STi" Thanks dwx |

I can get them for around $200 from Japan...with the axles. Those are VERY NEW USED parts. Off of the new age. I come across them all of the time!

Regular is the R160 Rear diff---US spec WRX (smaller)
STi ver. 7 RA is a R180--- Japanese spec STi (bigger housing) Check for the part #'s according to the R160 and R180. |

I don't know about the compatability, but it seems to make sense to me. These stock GDB drivetrain parts are MUCH cheaper them we pay for them here. I was like $1000 for a rear diff.! I hae a line right now on a RA COMPLETE drivetrain for 500,000 JPY! That is everything but the breaks. Motor, 6 spd, and everything else. I am actually considering flying to JDM land to procure it and put it in on a pallet to ship out here.
Oh yeah...it only has 10,000 km on it! Andy |

500,000yen= ~$4220 dollars
Then you ship it over to the states. Then you ship it again to your house. $$ I paid $5500 for the 6-speed, rear diff, pop-shaft (driveshaft) and STi flywheel. That is a good deal. ~$600 for the STi rear diff is a good deal too since mine has about 3000km on it. |

hmmmmm... I'd be VERY interested in considering a R180 rear end if the ring and pinion from the stock auto rear end would work on it.
