Lightbulb MOVING TO COLORADO SPRINGS AND NEED A PLACE TO LIVE! Please read.

My name is Joey Brocato, I'm currently living in Covington, Louisiana and I'm preparing to move to Colorado Springs--preferably East CS. My girlfriend and I have been struggling with a long distance relationship for about six months now after she left me and moved up there with her parents and I'm ready to be with her and get out of Louisiana anyways. The only aspect now that's holding me back is having set living arrangements. I will buy my own food, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. I do not need cable. Just a bedroom and electricity. I'm looking to spend between 300-400 a month and looking to move there in about one month's time (Early-mid September.) If you think you can help me out and work with that time frame, I will do anything to earn a place to sleep at night. I'm easy to talk to, fun to be around, and I'm pretty laid back and easy going. We could have a good time talking Subarus and hanging out since I won't have any friends there anyways. Please HELP! I can be contacted at (985) 778-8950 if you're interested or emailed at [email protected]. Or messaged on here, but I check my email more often. Thank you!

I might add that I don't have many possessions; a television, computer, boxes of clothes, important documents, and keepsakes. That's all. Not even a bed or furniture.

silly Utah people.

also, we're definitely over on pirates, so come on over if you got the grammar and spelling thing down. it's really not a car forum, but a grammar forum. i'm not sure how i've lasted so long w/o being planked, but that's probably because i mainly stick to the springs thread. don't be alarmed, btw...we actually get along pretty well in the springs, but we take out our aggression in our thread.

we have wednesday meets, so that's also another opportunity to come hang out with the 'refined' pirates. some of us still go out on the weekends and chill at the local sams club parking lot.

I don't think people realize that to the rest of the state, the Springs is just a bunch of backwards, conservative, religious window lickers.

Default CO people enter

Hi there,

SOOOOO sorry if i posted this in the wrong place, but I am looking for some local help as i am thinking of moving out there in the next several months. I was wondering these few things....

How is the weather on a day to day?
Do they salt the roads out there or just use sand?
How much does it snow in winter?
Is there snow on the ground ALL winter?

Now off the weather topic.

What are some good places to live? I would be looking for a Apartment.
Is there a Local Subie club?

-------------

Now im in KC, and belong to the local club out here ( Great people ) I have a 03 WRB WRX with lots of goodies and some 17x9wheels ( not sure if thats a good thing in snow... hahahha) those might have to go before CO gets me. lol

Thanks for the info !!!

how bout this...there are really two major obvious seasons here. summer and winter. often, the two will mesh and you'll get snow on the ground one day, then a week later, you'll have 60s and no snow. this summer we had some triple digit temps, but that doesn't seem to be the norm. the other summers that i've been here for have been 80s/90s.

there's a combo of sand and magnesium chloride depending on location. some would suggest that it's not as damaging as regular road salt.

Denver sees quite a bit of snow, but the springs is somewhat weird, as noted above. it can snow a lot, but most of the time, it seems to skip around the majority of the city limits and sticks to blasting denver, pueblo, and places east of here. sometimes we get lucky, though.

i can't help you here, but if you're going to be in the springs and have some places in mind, someone should be able to make a suggestion. you'll definitely get more info about this on awdpirates if you happen to find yourself over there.

lots of folks here have a winter set of wheels and because the subaru community is so large around here, you'll be able to find used wheels (and winter tires) fairly easily.

How much does it snow in winter? Depends on where you are, and as of late, could be a little to a lot.
Is there snow on the ground ALL winter? Depends. We average 300+ sunny days a year out here.

Now off the weather topic.

Is there a Local Subie club? www.awdpirates.net It's not really a car forum, more of a forum of grammar enthusiasts that just so happen to also enjoy cars.
Look up.
