The only reason I've held back on buying is because there's no testing results to be found. Otherwise, I have been quite tempted

I couldn't let this thread just fail due to people that probably aren't even on nasioc anymore sooo..
Showed up this morning

Since my car is paid off an i plan on keeping it until I see what the 2020 sti turns out to be I thought this a good trial and error. Worst case scenario this thing cools like ass and I put the stock back on but at only $350 I think it's worth my time and DEPORACINGs business that I leave a little better feedback in this thread.

I will say for a top mount its stout. My scale is calibrated and I know it's nothing like a wheel scale but I'm pretty sure this number is close. 21lb IC

I haven't decided if I want to coat this. I think I'll leave it raw first and then coat it to see if that helps. I am currently running a year old brentuning etune and waiting on tgv egr deletes(thought they'd be here by now) but What I'll do is take a WOT and 2min idle log today before I throw on the new IC

Curious to know how this goes for you. Like you said for 350 it's worth a try.

Small modification needed to keep the stock engine cover. I doubt it will work for aftermarket retention tho

Thank you very much sir. I've been waiting for someone to review this. Waiting to see your gains and such. What did you do to secure the front part of the engine cover?

Drilled a couple 1/8th holes and a couple 8"zip ties on the plastic above the firewall. The front will click back into the holes fine

91 degrees outside today. drove about an hour, all hwy, to scarborough fair and the manifold temp consistently stayed at 120-124degrees. that was lots of spirited driving to get there I kept the car running in the parking lot for 3 min and the temps never went above 136 degrees. when i got home parked in the garage running for 2min the intake temp drastically went from 100 to 151 degrees while manifold temps stayed at 138degrees. just a FWIW post but my car definitely felt more responsive during the whole drive even after sitting at lights

Can you do a 3rd gear pull logging the intake temps and intake manifold temps?

Only enough time to take pictures tonight before my better half needed the laptop for work. 3rd gear pull, columns (i) and ( j ) are probably what you're most interested in

Let me know if there is anything I might have missed.
My personal thoughts on this intercooler :
If I were to look at the numbers on the accessport I think it would be a hard sell to say this IC is worth the upgrade, for DD i cant see much difference in datalogs between stock and DEPO numbers.. BUT the cars responsiveness is way more consistent and pulls harder all the time with this IC. Ive never experienced power loss associated with heat soak like I would with the Stocker but at the same time, I dont really know what a good Manifold temp should read in relation to intake temp ( I assume the cooler, or closer to outside ambient temp, the better) Ive read post and seen diagrams of Grimmspeed TMIC and a few others (youtube video of Verticooler 118degrees) and the outlet temps are 130-150 degrees after a few pulls in which I think the DEPO tmic would definitely be a legit competitor for the price. I already posted it but this Depo IC was consistently 136degrees driving pretty hard for an hour. All this being said I think that the only REAL upgrade to a FAWRX tmic would be a FMIC no matter what brand TMIC we were to compare. So anyone planning on a "bcuz racecar" build should just save there pennies and grab a decent FMIC. I hope my info has helped anyone looking at DEPO and if I can contribute anything else to the thread let me know

I thank you much for doing this.Depo Racing still does not have the charge pipe in stock. Which is why I have not been able to do this.

I just got two of these in, one for me and one for my buddy. My buddies car is literally a copy of mine except It's a 2017 Haha. One of the intercoolers still had some water in it from being pressure tested. They were ordered before any new posts were made, so I came to the same conclusion. If it works, great. If not, it's 350$ and still probably a little better than stock. I'm getting etuned currently through Eric at torqued performance. I'll ask him what he thinks after I send him the datalogs. He's probably seen many intercoolers and probably has some insight. I couldn't justify the high cost of the other intercoolers. They are probably great and work well, but I'm not racing the car and don't autox. I just like to have a car that's fun to drive and makes more power, so I don't need to squeeze every last drop of power out of it.

Please have him share some info. I am torn between buying one of these and getting a used grimmspeed tmic. Would like to hear what a tuner has to say

I will. The depo looks to be a turboxs clone. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2722697

Eric is great. He tuned my car as well. Finally, will have some good insight on this intercooler. If Eric says it's good. I'm clicking purchase

Was he able to provide additional feedback after tuning and reviewing your logs?

I sent him my datalogs and asked if he has any input on the intercooler and got another map back. So I sent another two and he hasn't answered me yet. He might have nothing to say about it.

He doesn't talk a lot in his emails. Try asking again what he thinks of the intercooler
