You'll have to get a cobb or an ecutek unit to do those things to your car, which will make warranty claims more difficult.

This might be a stupid question so bear with me. Where could I learn more information on torque curves for the FA20DIT. I guess it could be a more general learning base not directed toward this motor but seeing how this car typically builds torque fast I was hoping I can read an explanation of how and why it does so.

Alright guys, I'm in need of some help with quite possibly a stupid question.
I understand that Mishimoto stated their intercooler and charge pipe would work without a dyno tune, but does the same apply for TGV and EGR deletes? I'm off the shelf as per maps right now, but wouldn't mind saving a bit of money and putting in the wrench time myself until I can scrape the dough for a pro tune. Any help would be much appreciated! |

If you have a question, look here first!!!

No way. I wrote a thread about TGV and EGR delete with the help of others. MUCH more involved tune wise than anything else. Try to stay away from mishimotos top mount. There are several threads surfacing lately showing it does worse than stock. Their "engineering" may seem interesting, but the real life quality is lacking. Try grimmspeed or PRL. Also, all TGVs are equal. Don't buy the TiC hype. Just find the cheapest pair. |

Too late for the intercooler. It's sitting in my bedroom.
But thanks! |

This has probably been asked somewhere on this forum and I apologize for asking it again, but I couldn't find it. Also, thanks to the knowledgeable guys who answer our questions again and again.
On the 2015+ WRX engine, what should I do first (on 91 octane fuel- all I can get except for E85 and although its everywhere I'm not ready for that yet) to get the most for my money. From what I've read here it would be a light crank pulley and then TGV deletes and a professional tune. Thanks |

I wouldn't waste my money on a crank pulley. TGV deletes are cool, but kinda supplemental. My first choice was downpipe, 3 port, and tune. You'll have to do them all at once. |

Thanks guys. What downpipe do you recommend? I'd like to add a resonator and keep the stock mufflers for now if I can.

Does the Japanese Domestic Market version of this motor have Tumble Generator Valves (TGV)? I heard somewhere that it doesn't and was wondering if it would be possible to ask a Japanese Subaru Club for their stock ECU programming as a starting point to tuning for TGV deletes? Some of the technical discussions on this are way beyond me, anyway I hope this isn't the wrong place to post this.

Yes they do. It's a key to the engines operation in subaru's eyes.

Thanks, for answering my newbie questions. Maybe you should do a stickie for what newbies should do first to increase power or efficiency (on this engine). Thanks again for your help.
