I finish college in three weeks, so that has to be done before I can bust out some more wicked voodoo. Denver has a new road course opening up . Drifting those wide flat corners is going to be a blast.

Just found this thread. Cool. '05 LGT
1) Your injectors size = PE850 "flow 930ish per mfgr" 2) Injector duty cycle = ~75% 3) Elevation = 5800-6200ft (Denver, Bandimere dragstrip) 4) Turbo = VF52 I haven't dyno'd my car nor I have I completely finished the tune due to the unexpected death of my laptop (new dedicated tuning laptop is on the way...). But I did take it to the dragstrip... Elevation at Bandimere = 5800' (other guys here have it listed as 6200', but pretty sure it's 5800') Here is the video of this run.. Love me some E85. Am not tuned for it with my VF43 but was *this* close to throwing in a 1/2 tank or so this past weekend at one of the local E85 equipped stations.
P.S. - Why no rebuttal from the 'haters'?? |

Makes sense, but in juanmedia's "SORTED BY 1/4 ET" in post #2 he has the quarter-mile runs at 6200'.
Elevation shouldn't matter for the dyno graphs since the CF takes that into account (theoretically anyhow) |

Forgot to post my setup!
Drunken Boxer v3.0 1) Your injectors size: STOCK 280cc 2) Injector duty cycle: enough 3) Elevation: 5280ft. 4) No boost. Bolt-ons + Fuel chemistry only. 32mpg on virgin E85. My only fuel mod is a Walbro pump. It also uses colder NGK plugs. 7's and 8's love you long time... E85 allows better tuning from the same combinations to bring us closer to our sea level times. It rapidly became popular in Colorado due to availability and a solid enthusiast base crossing ALL realms of vehicles. Gas tuning up here sucks because every vehicle is running around like a big octane test with brutally hot air and poorer cooling capacity compared to sea level. Ethanol fills both voids. I doctor fuel chemistry to improve power, cooling, and mileage. Ethanol is a fantastic tool at any altitude. As I prefer to put it: "Making altitude meaningless." Latitude means more with ethanol blends. You equatorial bastards get to run 100% hydrous. I can't do that in December . BTW, you guys might want to consider trying butanol eventually. I'll have more data up on that on my website. My little pitbike loves the stuff, but it needs to be blended to run right. Butanol doesn't evaporate very well but carries just fine in a mixture. Too much of it in a blend doesn't burn completely and I have to dial the mixture back to run right. These run really well: E85 and butanol Gas, E85, and butanol + hydrous ethanol in any of those. These mixes hold up for me so far in the cold. Gasoline is still the only one I can run straight. Blends of the others run brutally fast with the right plugs, timing, and mixtures. E85 is easy for most of you to handle. But, I went over your heads a looooooooong time ago with fuels. Marketing this stuff is a major bitch . Last edited by HamFist; 04-01-2009 at 12:21 AM. |

Oh, one more thing....You better consider a "Biofuel Armed Forces". Within 10 years America will have these fuel blends proven, tested, and stable in land, air, and sea.
That's what made Subarus boring to me. It's all about "my car's faster than yours"...not everything that's actually out there that made it into specifically a Subaru. I prefer flight, and a Subaru is my little baby airplane. Luckily, few ricers are actually working with E85. They're too busy blowing up everything else before they hear of E85. I like my strong hobbyist and tinker-freak markets for specifically biofuels . They're free of a lot of riff raff and are far more creative. They're even self sufficient and know how to work on their own stuff. Sorry to sound harsh and cynical, but when you're trying to make a living things look different. I <3 biofuel scooters . |

1) Your injectors size -960cc
2) Injector duty cycle (if you have it), 95% (installing bosch 044 as we speak and raising base fuel pressure to lower this) 3) Elevation - 5400 ft 4) Turbo - Blouch Dominator 4.0R 2006 WRX Limited Wagon Stock rods, CP pistons, 05 6 speed Dynoed 546/540 SAE (~19%, thanks to our altitude and 11.9 atm press) Ran 11.69@122 with stock tires, 1.73 60'. I'm the guy that tuned Juan's car. |

150whp, 150wtq. I'm not picky. None of my runs are the exact same numbers, anyway . I updated my mods, too. It only has a 255 pump for fueling.
This would be a good spot to ask but I don't want to go OT. Has anyone else noticed condensation issues in their oil or crankcase? I haven't had any, but here it's a rare issue. Motors in cold climates are the ones going out but mine hasn't. They spin bearings, but by then the oil is too contaminated to tell. Are iron block Mitsus behaving any differently than aluminum block Subarus? Last edited by HamFist; 04-01-2009 at 12:26 AM. |

I think it is a little safer to stay in the .75-.78 range I think my car tends to run just as well there... I tried the .82 range for a while and I don't like it as much as the .75-.78 range... HHHmm E85 tends to keep my egts pretty low, what are we talking when you say up there a little?

1) Your injectors size = DW 850cc
2) Injector duty cycle = 75% ish 3) Elevation = Phx, not sure 4) Turbo = VF39 Maps not quite done. . . but 363whp is pretty good i'd say Terrible launch but the trap speed was decent: Last edited by ChandlerWRX06; 04-19-2009 at 12:46 AM. |
