Post New carting place by my house. Review

Well Aaron, Diana, and I stopped by "KARTZ" on Both/Evt/Hwy by Thrashers Corner on Saturday afternoon to check it out.

The carts are Nice, New, And propane powered, so you don't get all smelling like exhaust.

The track is a pretty good layout but is too slick, the tires too hard of compound, and too much air pressure. With some improvement in the track and the tires it could be a pretty good place.

Also the printout is kind of confusing. Not as nice as some of the other places.

The owners are Australian and were a bit hurt by Aaron and my suggestions for improvements. Especially that we may not come again because of the slippy track. They said with a "you are the first two to complain".

We told them about the club group and how we always go carting. Maybe if a few more come in and try it they will take our suggestions more seriously.

How's the pricing? Karting is great fun! We went for "Morale Event" at work to Champs in Overlake a little while back and I took first out of about 20 people. I'm such the driver. I proudly display my trophy at work still. *chuckle*

Anyways, just wondering what the price per trip is. I like karting, but it's usually sorta pricey. Now that I've finally got my dream car, I'd rather be spending cash on decals and mods 'n stuff.

I think it was $12 for your first time race. Normal price IIRC is;

Non-member___Member

$15...first race.....$12
$13...second race.$11
$11...third race....$10

It's something like that if all on the same day.

I thought the floor was just too slick and the Karts were too powerfull for the surface. The guy said that the track was getting better but I told him that that was just the wax or whatever getting groves from the tires and that if you got out of the line then your kart would just spin. From what I could gather, he wasn't very knowledgeable about what people like as far as track setups are concerned.

I tried to offer a suggestion on how I would like his track better compared to other proven tracks and they kinda looked hurt more than anything else. Then they gave us a free race coupon and told us to give them another try. Like they didn't here anything other than "I don't like you."Oh well.

fife?? you mean grand prix?
yes.... we've been there and we're never going again... not until they clean it up... it's messy, dirty, unflagged and unsafe...

the track is great, but they need to clean up their act.

I think I might make a trip next week. This week is "finals" (and I use that term loosely).
