Default GTX VS BW seeking advice.

I own a 2015 STI
Stage 4 IAG, GSC 272 cams, 14mm head studs etc.
I want to start compete in time attack street class.

At the moment car have a PTE6466 1.06A/R TA and it is above
600WHP tuned on E85 BUT the spool is disappointing.
I narrowed down to two turbo choices.
GTX3076R gen2 TS and BW EFR8474 (Black series)
I am looking for the quickest spool possible.
I have looked for YouTube videos for comparison with no luck.

Can anyone chime in?
If more info is needed just ask.

Thanks.

There's a big difference in size in the 2 turbos you picked

Skip the GTX3076R and go to the GTX3576R. Same spool, more power. Plenty of info on STIs with GTX3576Rs.

That’s exactly what my parts provider told me.

3576R it is!

I have never driven a car with a GTX, but I have an EFR7163 on my car and response is CRAZY fast! I had a BW S200SXE on it before and you had to build boost in each gear after a shift. The EFR model its there as soon as you're back on the gas after a shift. Apples to oranges with your size, but maybe something to consider?

EFR7163 was on my list for some time, I spoke to
Few TA racers and all pointed me to a GTX for abuse
Reliability even J.J. The owner of IAG.
3576R was order last week.

Thanks for the advice.

Get a GTX and don't look back, I have been running a gen1 GTX3076 for years and it has been to hell and back with zero performance issues. Visually I thought it needed a re-build (took some pebbles into my intake once) showed it to Garrett and the said it was fine just run it.

As for the size it just comes down to what your power goals are and that is basically going to be dictated by a combination of weight and brakes!!! I personally think the GTX3071 gen2 is about as large as you can go before you need to be doing MASSIVE brake upgrades and weight reduction. Its said to be right in line with the power levels of my gen1 3076 (500whp@26psi) with better response. That 3576 gen2 should be right back in the same power range as your current turbo.

I know nothing about your car nor your driving abilities but I can tell you that my car makes 500whp/500wtq weighs 2800lbs full fuel tank and it is at the absolute maximum of what the stock size brakes will handle when using the best fluid/pads/rotors avalable for them when being pushed properly on track.

efr8474 is a monster it will probably do 750whp easy, my 8374 hits 30 psi by 4200 rpm on Kelford B cam and makes 640whp, so 8474 will probably hit 30 psi by 4500

I have a GTX, and would have done an EFR if I had known better. I am pretty sure the EFR's are faster spooling for the same power potential after looking at the specs and results I have seen. Just my opinion, but I'd love to try a 6258 on my autox car.

I also recommend the EFR if spool is your end goal.

How late are you seeing boost on the 6466?

my 7163 will make 30 psi by 3800 RPMs through a FMIC, stock UELH and at 5500 ft elevation with stock heads.
