Horn and airbag light
Guessing this is the best place to post this.
Backstory: 2005 Saab 9-2x. Started life as an auto. Completing a v7 207 and auto to 6 speed swap. Had to replace bulk head harness as the original one had wiring damage. Replaced with one from an 05 9-2x manual trans model. I have been able to track down all the small issues other than the following: Horn doesn't work. Have checked fuse which was clean. No signs of fatigue, burns or dark spots. Replaced with a new fuse just to see if I missed something. I am going to pull and clean all the plugs just to make sure they are good as well. I didn't find any exposed wires when installing the new harness. Did my best to make sure no wires were pinched but will check again when I clean the plugs. Turns indicators, hazard lights, dimmer switch, headlights all work as they should. Cruise control does not work. Light on dash does not come on when I press the CC button. Alarm and keyless entry don't work either. I used the alarm modules from the original harness. Airbag light is on. All connectors are plugged in. Ground below center console is connected. Is there a module from the original harness I need to switch to the new harness? I still have the original harness so if there's anything I need to pull from that I can. Thanks in advance for the help.

No horn + airbag light usually means a bad clockspring. If these were ok pre-swap, was the steering disconnected and the wheel turned past its normal limits at some point? That is one way to destroy a clockspring.

Not sure if they were working before the swap. Bought the chassis with a bad engine so I never had a chance to see what worked and what didn't. I did have the steering disconnected to make it easier to swap in the pedal assembly but I didn't turn the wheel much when moving around it. I'll look into the clock spring. It's what I was figuring but hoping it wasn't. |
