Nice ride man. I'm brand new to Subarus but I've liked those SVX's since they came out.

Thank you. Since that photo the sun has been beating the clear coat to death so the car doesn't look quite that good anymore, though when washed cleaned up it still looks pretty amazing.

Yes Subaru really dropped the ball on the SVX, great concept terrible implementation.

It is AWD but the only transmission they put in it was the 4EAT and in the United states that was the version that put most power to the front wheels with the back only kicking in as needed (though they did that because of the epa regulations that said they needed to dyno check the emissions and most dyno's were 2 wheel dynos at the time) those transmissions have a fuse slot that if you put a fuse in the car will kill power to the rear wheels. And that transmission ended up not being strong enough for the car its rare for one to last 110k miles.
Over seas they had a better version, it had the permanent split of 36/64 with the rear wheels always the drive wheels unfortunately even those versions were not strong enough for the torque of the engine.
The great news all EJ transmissions bolt up and work, I personally put a 07 6 speed in mine.

Yes these cars were futuristic "spaceships" and as mentioned they are AWD the downside to that is like all subaru awd the engine has to sit forward of the front wheels, the entire H6 is overhanging the front tires, and the EG33 is about 4 inches longer then the ej

I saw one that was swapped to manual. I would to the 6spd andyes, 257 it eventually if I had one though I think the Speedwagon would get a 257 first.

Yes the manual swap is a great idea, I have a sti 6 speed in mine. I would not want the EJ25, the plan is just turbo the EG33, now that I have a driveline that should handle it.

The stock bottom end of the EG is forged, using a GT35 sized turbo it spools fast, and you could run about 12psi without any other work this should get you in the ball park of 450 at the wheels

There is a guy in Australia who transplanted a stock EG33 into his 04 Sti running 12-14 psi making 535 HP at the wheels ran 11.3 without launching because he broke his DSS axles and put his stocks back on. he was going 127mph

Looking for a fair deal on 06-08 Forester - Ready to buy

Family member wrecked their 06 but walked away without serious injury.

Would consider a great deal on an Outback.

Still on the forums, much has changed over the years. I finally, after many a year, bought an STi. So, wave, should you see me around!

Anyone still meet up in Jax, anywhere?
