Post Need assistance, do I need AC PAG oil?

Currently swapped a complete EJ207 into my STI.

I was recently informed I should add the "AC Oil" to the compressor in case it is dry.

Is there any way to check the oil level inside the compressor before looking into what and how much to add?

Is the compressor brand new, or was it moved with the swap? Do you already have the ac system charged up? If not you could do your best to pour out any oil that is already in the compressor and then fill it to the manufactures recommendation. When I changed the ac compressor on my old car I filled it with about 7oz of oil, though the compressor was shipped with no oil in it.

The engine was imported assembled, the ac compressor hasn't been removed, so is it basically a gamble? Better off removing it and making sure its empty before filling up I guess

Assuming you can't just re-use your old compressor (different mounting?), you can drain and measure the oil from it, then drain the oil from the "new" one and add back the measured amount from the old one with new oil.
And then hope that compressor is good after sitting around.
