Default Cold Start/Stall on Hill issue

So this morning my buddies truck was dead so I was reversing up my driveway which is a hill (packed with ice) and I stalled. My car then decided it didn’t want to restart, it would crank but wouldn’t turn over. I ended up resetting my ECU and then let it ride into neutral into the road so it was level and it turned over instantly. I just found it to be really odd? What would cause that? My oil burn is well within spec, no smoke runs great drives great. My only complaint ever is it hates life while it’s warming up in sub 30 temperatures until around 120 coolant temp.

Full bolt on 2015 WRX STI Limited
with a custom Tune In Colorado Elevation of about 4500.

Random thought: what viscosity oil are you using?

5w40 Motul X Clean, it always starts right up in the mornings even when cold but it revs high and if I try to drive before it reaches about 120 coolant and I get to a stop sign the idle will hunt a little bit going from rich to lean afrs. I’ve looked into it but that seems to be fairly common with aftermarket fuel set ups. Only does that when it’s cold that’s what I meant when I said it hates life until it’s warmed a bit, however this new one is not something I’ve encountered before.

Interesting. Kind of sounds like your fuel pump simply wasn’t reaching the fuel at that angle.

Well I hope that’s all it is, it’s a pretty steep hill as well.

If it cranks, it is turning over. It just isn't starting.

Obvious question... How much fuel in the tank?

Default 2015 Impreza Start Issues

First mine would start but stall out before I could get it into gear. I put some oil in and then It started fine after that. Now the break will not decompress so I can push the ignition button. All the lights, radio and stuff comes on but car will not start. I have turned it off and let it sit then try again and it starts. I noticed the ABS, Hill climb, and traction lights are on at the same time. Unfortunately, the next time I try to start it it won’t start. Not sure if I am in advertently hitting something that’s locking the brakes? Any ideas?
