Circumstances: accelerating 50% throttle onto Autobahn A3, was feeling a loss in power. Noticed my AP said my FKL was -9.5, heard the engine just cough and complete loss of power.
Actual engine failure: threw a rod and broke the short block

What gear/rpm did you apply ~50% accel?

Too low of rpm in too high a gear can make a rod snap.

Just picked up a 2017 wrx limited with 56k miles, egr and tgv deletes, grimmspeed j-pipe, ebcs, tmic and boost tube, nameless muffler deletes, already tuned by mike botti and running great!

Glad you are enjoying the car. I would recommend re-tuning with him just to make sure its all good.
