Default Downpipe cat less and inspection NY

Deciding on if I should get a Catless Downpipe or Catted for my 2015 wrx. I live in NY, so I was curious how other WRX's did on there inspections. I plan on getting a Mishimoto DP along with there ECU Tech device so I will not have any cell issues. Just nervous that the Catless DP might fail the emissions.

Many people have no issues with a high flow cat as the third cat. They remove the dp cat and up cat. I think it's just an obd2 scan. As long as everything is in ready status you should be fine. Unless they do a visual, but I doubt they will. If there are issues I am sure someone on this board will hook you up. The 2015 might be different. The performance of catless is marginal and your car smells. Knowledgeable cops will know just by driving behind you. I say get the cat.

If the year of the car is 2015, you have 2 years of safety inspections only. This consists of safety items such as your headlights, tail lights, seat belts wipers etc. no obd2 scan is required.

Here in NYC, they only inspect brakes, lights and check engine light. That's it. I'm currently catless stage 2 and I just passed inspection a few weeks ago.

New system in place. Just plugs into OBI port and links up to a data base. My mechanic said if it doesn't recognize the info it would fail.

My Stage 2 legacy past, he also said this was the first modified car that past. I'm running a AP with a Etune.

Correct we got new systems from the dmv, and like i said vehicles only 2 years old only require a safety inspection. For example if you own a 2014 or 2015 just safety, and vehicles older get the full obd inspection. Im an inspector and work at a honda dealership (traitor), but my 05 wrx catless full exhaust and stage 2 tune using romraider, passes like a normal car lol
