I really hope they did it justice, although the bar is very high with the Nicholson movie.
Nurse Ratched is an amazing character and one of the most evil antagonists.
Well, I was planning on avoiding any spoilers or reviews for Ratched, but from what has leaked onto my newsfeed, it seems the show is a wreck.
I think I am still going to check it out, but with much lower expectations.

Ooh. Sounds interesting. OFOTCN is one of my favorite Jack movies.

Dragon's Dogma has an interesting story thus far, but the animation seems off. I think I am getting used to it, but it was slightly jarring the first two episodes. I am on episode five now.

Yeah, it's pretty good.
I'm at the same point.

It's actually pretty mind-blowing when you see the vocabulary and tone of news reports from the '70s/'80s.

"Three blacks and an Oriental..."
"Interracial training"
"She's single, she plays the piano and she's a runner." Dan ****ing Rather said that.

I am about half way through and it is twisted.

"What do your dates say when you tell them you are and astronaut?", also Dan Rather. We have come some distance from there anyway.

As for the series, should have been two episodes, there was a lot of useless fill and they did not find anything particularly new. I was surprised at how much damage had been observed in the O rings prior to the Challenger failure but that could have been covered well enough in one long episode about half the length of the series.

But then we might have missed those priceless anchorman gems.

Eh, the ending was foreshadowed around episode 4/5. Not terrible, but not as good as I thought it was going to be. Looks to be a one off series with nowhere else to go. Not sure if it is an anime. I meant manga.

The trailer just made me want to watch Castlevania again.

Started watching DC's Titans show on Netflix via Japan VPN server, this show is a lot better than I thought it would be.

We watched "The Take" the other night.

Considering the cast - Idris Elba and Robb Stark, the movie was barely OK.
I should say it would have been barely OK, but about half of the movie is in French. Even with the subtitles enabled, 90% of the dialogue wasn't translated. I am not talking about some background conversations, but rather the entire plot from the point of the French police. I suppose you can still get the gist of what is going on and the general topic of the conversations by context, but it was barely tolerable. (still not sure if that was a problem isolated to me or a bug on Netflix' side)

Beside that, the movie was nothing special. Somehow, a lot of those seem to find their way on the most popular in the US Netflix chart.
I like both leads and I suppose the script might have seemed like an OK idea, but overall, is very much on the meh side.

I saw it a couple of years ago, I recall thinking it was decent, but nothing spectacular. That said, I'm generally happy just looking at Idris Elba, so it worked for me.

My wife and I have been watching "Rita" lately. It's a pretty funny show.

Are you watching via Roke/Fire/Apple tv?

For some reason our Fire tv forgets about subtitles, at random. Never happens on the fire stick or apple tv.

Yeah, if it wasn't Idris Elba I would have been even more disappointed. He is great, even in not so great productions.

I watched it on Android TV (Sony smart TV).
The subtitles were on, but only for the English dialogue.

I tried turning them off and on again at least couple of times with no result.
There were no additional options for subtitles either.

He could just stand there and half smile and say "Maths" for 2 hours and I'd probably watch it.

I've had this happen on our ShieldTV too.
I forget what we were watching but I never figured it out.

Same thing happened for me. Must be a Netflix issue. There were a few random french words that would pop up every once in a while in the subtitles but 90-95% of the french dialogue had no subtitles. That alone really made the movie not worth watching.

Watched The Social Dilemma with the wife yesterday. super terrifying and depressing even if you already know how these things work. Got me to remove even more things from my phone and already got me thinking about some ways i can modify my behavior.

If you are a parent for young children, it is even more depressing.

Highly recommended!!!

I watched the first episode last night and I have no idea where they are going with this. It's not bad but if it continues to just get weirder with no real direction I probably won't continue it.

I tried watching the Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous series and not thinks. It's just a video game but you don't get to control the character. I knew it would be geared for kids but seriously first person view in a cartoon?

I'm in the same boat, hoping things start making more sense as the show goes on. There are a lot of unanswered questions for me, as of right now.

That appears to be only the first 1/4 of the first episode. The rest is standard fare.

My 13 Y/o is enjoying it.

I had most of the subtitles for mine. Was a pretty "meh" movie though they did break out of some stereotypes at times which was nice. The translation was pretty bad though, even with my limited French I could tell that what was said and what was on screen was pretty far off. At one point they were talking about raising the threat level to "code 4" and the guy said "maximum" which even not knowing any French you should be able to guess that isn't quite the same. Especially when they later raised it to 5.
