2.5 STI block with 99 impreza 2.2 heads
Hello Im in the beginning phase of planning my motor build.
1999 outback wagon 2.2l engine, rod knock Planning a build and found someone selling a machined .020 over 07 STI block with crank/forged rods near me. I plan to get forged pistons for the setup. I am wondering if I can run my stock 2.2 heads. I also have a stock 2.5 N/A motor out of an 01 forester I am considering running instead. Either way, I plan to put wrx or sti or XT stock turbo with custom headers/up/downpipe and STI TMIC The other thing I would consider is an 02-05 WRX swap but I haven't been able to find a donor car. What engine management options do I have? If I go with the Frankenstein build or N/A 2.5 l motor and turbo it, can I use a piggyback system? AEM EM4? It seems COBB doesnt work with older models than 02. Can my oem computer be flashed for opensource programs? Only looking to make 8-10 psi (if I cant use the 2.5 STI with forged internals). Would SAFC work with my non turbo ecu along with a boost controller? Sorry I have tried some searches. Patience is appricated! Love friends
