2009 Forester JDM EJ253 Swap
Hey all
I did a bunch of searching and didn't get 100% concrete answers to this question I picked up a used 2009 Forester USDM (Federal Emissions) for cheap that I'd like to make my daily. it needs a full long block as the original owners ran it 100% out of oil climbing a mountain and its completely seized. Used USDM EJ253 are pretty pricey around here with a bunch of miles. I found a bunch of JDM EJ253 online and from what I've read, the long blocks are functionally the same between the USDM and JDM EJ253s from similar years. So my question is assuming I swap all my other parts(Exhaust manifold, intake manifold etc) is this a direct replacement for my USDM engine?

Did you ever find an answer to this? I now find myself in the same situation.
