Question P1449 Evap Restriction Self Fix

I got a P1449 code that keeps coming back; evaporative restriction.

Apparently spiders like to build nests in the area, and that is the usual cause. Since I am in California, I went to the dealer and inquired if this is something that would be covered by the California emissions warranty. The dealer said that if this is indeed spiders, then the warranty would not cover it.

So, I am going to try to fix it myself. Any tips? Like what do I need to take off to get to where this is, etc?

Anybody else fixed this issue themselves?

Thanks.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have a 2012 Impreza that has this CEL code.

Default 2013 Impreza P1449

I have been trying to determine my next step in the P1449 CEL on my 2013 Impreza w/ 50,000 miles. Code keeps coming back after clearing. No fuel dispensing problems. Car runs great. Purge valve in engine compartment seems to work as 12V opens and voltage off closes the valve.

So all the evap canister and associated componentry (drain filter) is located in the clusterf*ck above the rear differential and axle shafts. Do I really need to drop the rear end to service this drain filter? Is the drain filter even a serviceable item? Is there a way to clear any of the hoses to eliminate the "spider web" scenario or do I still need to drop the diff to do that?

Appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Haven’t seen any replies for quite a while - just curious if you figured it out and what the fix is. I’m going to have the canister looked at but if there’s stuff I can check on my own I’d love to try that first.
