OK, so seriously is this playable with keyboard? How is the modulation of throttle, steering, etc for on/off buttons like the keyboard?

Simulators are never playable with a keyboard. You can maybe get away with an arcade racer, but not a simulator. Sorry.

Not directed at me, but I have used that stand. It was boxed back up and shipped back the next day. |

My playseat evo has been collecting dust ever since I stopped playing gran turismo on the ps3. I've tried using it a few times with my PC, but the logistics of setting it up in front of my desk is just too silly.
Of course, I could resolve that by sinking another $200 into it on the playseat monitor stand and then another $200-$300 on a big monitor or lcd tv to mount to it, but I need a more economical option at this point. |

Actually, Newegg sucks and I'll never do business with them again, but that's a different story for a different time.

Really happy with the approach Codemasters is taking to this so far. Glad to see they are looking into the force feedback as that is the main part that feels lacking to me initially. I've gotten too used to Assetto Corsa's feedback.

Real men rock the course after a shakedown lap and no co-driver!
I had too many real life things to do last night and never got to download this. About to pause real life for this soon. |

The key is to "left foot brake" a lot. My steering and accel are W, A, and D while my brake is setup to my left arrow key and I use the up and down for gear shifts so it works well. Game overall is great. I have the no pace note bug that is apparently a 50/50 thing. My co-driver is nice enough to tell me when I have a puncture though. Game is 8/10 IMO. Will probably be a 10/10 once it is out of early release and I can hear my pace notes. You have never played a rally game until you finish a stage in a 60s mini with only one intact tire. |

Playable is all I need, I have always wanted a wheel but never could justify one. What is the best wheel if I were to get one that woudl work for for PC & XBox 360 or maybe a future Xbox One? G27? I've been really teetering on the edge of getting a gaming PC again but i've held off for now. |

The X360 controller is always a good compromise. If I were to plunk down for a wheel again, I'd get the Logitech Driving Force wheel. I had a G25 that I used for several years for both PC and PS, but I found myself not using the clutch and shifter enough because of lack of feedback.

Oh man.. I just went off course down a hill, but managed to not go too far.. kept my speed up and busted through a fence to get back onto course.. I was laughing manically.
I really like the brace position the driver assumes as I go careening off into the trees. Also, I turned my HUD pace notes off in the menu and then ran the benchmark. Afterward I re-enabled the pace notes in the HUD and when I went to race I had both HUD and codriver audio. Soo much better knowing what's coming up ahead. I just ordered a 360 wireless receiver for my PC. |

If you have the USB adapter for the controller, you should be able to connect it to the PC using DS3 Tool. That's what I use for both my wireless PS3 and 360 controllers.

I have the play & charge cable for my wireless 360 controllers.. but it apparently only has two power wires and no data wires in the cable.
