OK, so seriously is this playable with keyboard? How is the modulation of throttle, steering, etc for on/off buttons like the keyboard?

Simulators are never playable with a keyboard. You can maybe get away with an arcade racer, but not a simulator. Sorry.

I see the same comments in the feedback thread above: Some have pacenotes/pacenote audio, and some don't. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me; you'd think everyone would have that problem or nobody would. It's almost as if we have different builds of the game.

I'm fairly certain the functionality would be identical with the one above, just takes up less space ftw.

Not directed at me, but I have used that stand. It was boxed back up and shipped back the next day.

My playseat evo has been collecting dust ever since I stopped playing gran turismo on the ps3. I've tried using it a few times with my PC, but the logistics of setting it up in front of my desk is just too silly.

Of course, I could resolve that by sinking another $200 into it on the playseat monitor stand and then another $200-$300 on a big monitor or lcd tv to mount to it, but I need a more economical option at this point.

Hi all,

Wow! what an awesome first few days it has been. Again I'd just like to say thank you to you all on behalf of the team. We love that you are enjoying the game and we've been busy reading your feedback, watching your videos and checking out your livestreams (when not working on the game obviously).

We're pleased that you all feel our launch went really smoothly but we did hit a few bumps... not as many on the side of the road in Greece though!

Here's what we've fixed in the patch that just went live

Audio Fix - We had a word with the co-driver about his attitude and he should now be talking to you if he wasn't before.
Audio Fix - Resolved several instances of your co-driver speaking French for non French players (he's been taking lessons and wanted to practice).
Online Fix - Fixed the Daily Online events so you will now be correctly rewarded for completing the event.
Championship Fix - Resolved instances of incorrect weather combinations being generated during later championship events... We blame global warming.

Known issues we're working on

Error 41 - We're looking into this one, and will update as soon as I have more info. As it is something we need to discuss with Valve.
dirtgame.com not loading - this seems to be an issue with Firefox users, we're looking into it but for now any other browser should work.
FFB - The team are looking at your feedback on this now and we'll have some settings for you to try out later today.

If you are having any of the problems below can you please take a read of this post and send your dxdiags to dirtgame(at)codemasters(dot)com. We're still trying to get to the bottom of them and the more info we can collect about your system the quicker we can get to fix.

Game Hangs
Input lag on some setups
Benchmark test doesn't run correctly
Can't full screen on mobile Nvidia cards

You're all awesome, to keep up to date with the latest news follow us on Twitter, Facebook and keep an eye on dirtgame.com.
I found it here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/dirtgame/com...4/patch_v_031/

Also, Newegg is awesome and my G27 should be here today!

Actually, Newegg sucks and I'll never do business with them again, but that's a different story for a different time.

Really happy with the approach Codemasters is taking to this so far. Glad to see they are looking into the force feedback as that is the main part that feels lacking to me initially. I've gotten too used to Assetto Corsa's feedback.

I hope that implies that the on-screen pacenotes will show up too.

Real men rock the course after a shakedown lap and no co-driver!

I had too many real life things to do last night and never got to download this. About to pause real life for this soon.

Yeah it's kind of like the racing line in iracing...I use it when learning a new track but find it to be a crutch more than anything.

It is playable with a keyboard but not the best experience. Lap times suffer for it for sure; however, it is still fun with keyboard.

The key is to "left foot brake" a lot. My steering and accel are W, A, and D while my brake is setup to my left arrow key and I use the up and down for gear shifts so it works well.

Game overall is great. I have the no pace note bug that is apparently a 50/50 thing. My co-driver is nice enough to tell me when I have a puncture though.

Game is 8/10 IMO. Will probably be a 10/10 once it is out of early release and I can hear my pace notes.

You have never played a rally game until you finish a stage in a 60s mini with only one intact tire.

Thanks.

Playable is all I need, I have always wanted a wheel but never could justify one.

What is the best wheel if I were to get one that woudl work for for PC & XBox 360 or maybe a future Xbox One? G27?

I've been really teetering on the edge of getting a gaming PC again but i've held off for now.

The X360 controller is always a good compromise. If I were to plunk down for a wheel again, I'd get the Logitech Driving Force wheel. I had a G25 that I used for several years for both PC and PS, but I found myself not using the clutch and shifter enough because of lack of feedback.

Oh man.. I just went off course down a hill, but managed to not go too far.. kept my speed up and busted through a fence to get back onto course.. I was laughing manically.

I really like the brace position the driver assumes as I go careening off into the trees.

Also, I turned my HUD pace notes off in the menu and then ran the benchmark. Afterward I re-enabled the pace notes in the HUD and when I went to race I had both HUD and codriver audio. Soo much better knowing what's coming up ahead.

I just ordered a 360 wireless receiver for my PC.

If you have the USB adapter for the controller, you should be able to connect it to the PC using DS3 Tool. That's what I use for both my wireless PS3 and 360 controllers.

I have the play & charge cable for my wireless 360 controllers.. but it apparently only has two power wires and no data wires in the cable.
