I’ve enjoyed the lead up to and the season very much. Watching the beta B1G throw up all over themselves was hysterical and no one .... no one ... literally no one gives a S* about the PAC12.

Having just the ACC, SEC, and B12 playing was nice. It was calming and wasn’t filled with B1G bluster and whining. I’m also enjoying watching Nebraska gut the B1G leadership. Be prepared for more conference alignment because of B1G feckless leadership.

TL16 has tested positive for Covid and luckily his symptoms are mild and he has a 99.998% chance of recovering with no lasting complications at all ... but anyways ... Clemson will handle BC this weekend, but next weekend could be interesting.

I fully expect that if Clemson loses in South Bend the ACCCG between ND and Clemson will be more the last CFP spot.

I would respond to some of the attacks in this thread but .... I don’t punch down. The vacuum of the PP has infected every corner of this forum. MOTGA!!!

Be better if we could find a damn QB. Or call plays like we think we have one.

There are so many other things that you can criticize, and should criticize, Franklin for in that debacle. This is not one. Conventional football coaching always say kick the extra point when you are up by 7, even more so when there is 1:40 left.

Meh Clemson is oozing with talent and it's ND... You'll be OK. ND hasn't shown up for a big game in almost decade now.

Especially when you're a top 10 team playing Indiana lol.

Penn State had a ton to lose in that scenario. They were/are expected to compete for a Big Ten championship and possibly a playoff bid. They were the more talented team and should have been confident in making a stop or at the very least a 2 pt conversion stop.

Kicking was the correct move in that scenario.

That 2 pt conversion in OT was insanity.

HUGE one tomorrow nepawrx!

Clemson will destroy ND and everyone also in the ACC since the conference is terrible and Clemson is the best team in the country.

I'm not worried about tomorrow for the first time in years for the PSU OSU game. It will be a walk in the park for OSU. They also get the benefit of no home team whiteout advantage.

Bunch of players out but to quote a Clemson fan they are "too deep" We will see as I wouldn't count out BC as they always play tough

But if you make the 2 point conversion the game is over. If you don't make the two point conversion, the situation literally does not change AT ALL compared to being up 8.

Are you guys being intentionally obtuse? I've spelled it out pretty clearly. As Herm Edwards once said, you play to WIN the game. Not play to pretty much win the game.

What about a chance at overtime, If they fail to convert, the other team only needs seven. certainly easier to achieve than a two point conversion.

It's a risk reward choice.

Seems a school of thought choice.

At least you're supremely confident.

Option A
I 100 percent win the game, or I give the other team a shot to win the game

Option B
I maybe win the game, maybe give the other team a shot to win the game

It's ridiculous how many different ways I've had to spell this out. There is no logical argument for leaving the game in balance when you have a 100 percent probability shot to win and a less than 100 probability shot to lose by going with option A.

I would have thought this was common sense.

Unless the coach thinks the other team is better at converting, I'm not in the guys head.

I mean, playing "safe" or prevent is an oft used but slightly reckless tactic.

Wouldn't have mattered much if the other team didn't convert.

Maybe I'm confused about the game situation. I didn't see it and it sounded like it would have been a two score game either way.

No, if Penn State had gone for 2 and made it, they would have been up 29-20 with 1:40 left. If they had failed, they would have been up 27-20.

And here I thought you were talking about the decision to kick the extra point in overtime.

You realize, that by kicking the extra point, there is absolutely no way Penn State could lose in the next possession and probability to tie is low. Going for 2 and missing it nearly guarantees a TD ties it and getting 2 would win it.

This was one of the few correct decisions by Franklin in the game. No one anywhere that I have seen other than you is questioning this play. Not sure why you are arguing this when there are countless other things you can rightfully criticize Franklin for in that game.

At least his coaching was a little better last night. Unfortunately, Ohio State is really good, arguably the best team in the country right now. At least Penn State's offense played well, including one of the best catches I've seen in a long time. Too bad their defense never left the locker room.
