Officials for the transit union say employees are subjected to seeing both body parts and whole bodies out in the open without warning.

The group's vice president said leaving the bodies out is not only disrespectful to the deceased and their families, but the discoveries often leave workers traumatized.

"These are bathrooms, facility rooms, break rooms — anybody can just walk in without notice," Echevarria said. "And that is another part of ending the service, because they're usually sent home by what they've seen, what they've touched."

MTA sources told NY1 that the NYPD responds instantly when a train hits someone.

However, they told us bodies are not stored in break rooms, but instead officers place them in non-public spaces while they wait for the medical examiner.

The medical examiner said it takes them about an hour to recover bodies from non-hospital scenes.

You have to put them somewhere.

Personally, I would've just left them where they were and let the rodents clean things up.

As much as I hate quentin tarantino movies I'm reminded of the scene where Quentin continually asked if his home said it was where to store bodies of African Americans that had passed.

I can understand maybe one time you get a body and you're like "well, sh't what do I do with it now" and you forget it in the break room after getting a Snickers out of the vending machine, imagining lugging that dead weight around takes it out of you. But to make it such habit to the point it's not unusual, that' a bit much.

LA VERNIA, Texas - A new lawsuit filed in federal court late last month alleges La Vernia Independent School District failed to investigate the repeated sexual assault of a student.

According to the lawsuit, the alleged victim, identified under the pseudonym of "John Doe," was sexually assaulted by his La Vernia High School basketball teammates "over 30 times" over a period of five months beginning in October 2016.

The lawsuit, filed Jan. 23, alleges a coach was aware of at least two of the sexual assaults, but did nothing.

In one of the incidents, Doe was getting ready in an opponent's locker room before a game when two of his teammates subdued him and groped and sexually assaulted him. Doe said he remembers "screaming and yelling as loud as he could," and when he returned to the court after the assault, he was met by laughing teammates and one of his coaches.

"It was clear (the coach) heard the screaming and yelling," the lawsuit claims. "(The coach), however, ignored the assault and did nothing."

In another incident, Doe claims he was sexually assaulted by upperclassmen in the La Vernia High School locker room and that a coach was present.

The complaint states that the coach saw the assault and unwanted advances and "walked away and allowed such sexual assault to continue."

According to the lawsuit, the assaults continued to the point where Doe began showering with his underwear on to help deter or prevent future sexual assaults.

The suit claims employees of the district failed to properly investigate and respond to the assaults and seeks more than $1 million from the district.

A separate federal lawsuit filed against the district mounts similar allegations against La Vernia ISD.

At least 13 students were arrested in March and April of 2017 and charged with sexual assault following an investigation into alleged student-on-student sexual assaults dating back to 2014.

In May 2017, the district announced it would investigate if any teachers or coaches should also be held responsible.

In November 2017, Dr. Jose Moreno, the La Vernia ISD superintendent resigned. Moreno will be paid more than $89,000 as part of a separation agreement, according to records released by the district.

They should have stored him in a break room.

A man who shares the mobile home with Varela later reported to sheriff's deputies he saw the girl alive after 9 p.m. Saturday. He went on to say that Sunday morning, Varela stepped out of his room and said he needed help. He showed him the dead teen on his bed. Varela told his roommate that she snorted a line of crushed Percocet pills, took a "dab" of liquid THC and passed out, according to the roommate's account.

The roommate said he told Varela to call police, according to the report. Instead, the suspect went to work a double shift at a local Dairy Queen.

At work, Varela told another employee about the party, the overdose and the photos, court papers say. He seemed to be boasting when he claimed the young woman died while having sex with him, the coworker later recounted to deputies. He reportedly told the coworker he wanted to take her to the hospital, but he was "too tired to do so" and went to sleep.

Varela described how he'd stuffed the body into a plastic crate, according to the coworker's story. The young man found a place in Marysville where he planned to bury her, according to the report. The coworker searched Facebook and saw a post from the girl's mother. It said the girl had been missing since Saturday night. The coworker went to police early Tuesday.

Snohomish County sheriff's deputies converged on the mobile home two hours later. They found the suspect.

In a bedroom, they found a black plastic crate, with a young woman's body stuffed inside.

An Oregon woman who had worms coming out of her eye is being called the first known human case of a parasitic infection spread by flies.

Fourteen tiny worms were removed from the left eye of the 26-year-old woman in August 2016. Scientists reported the case Monday.

The woman, Abby Beckley, was diagnosed in August 2016 with Thelazia gulosa. That's a type of eye worm seen in cattle in the northern United States and southern Canada, but never before in humans.

They are spread by a type of fly known as "face flies." The flies feed on the tears that lubricate the eyeball, scientists said.

She had been horseback riding and fishing in Gold Beach, Oregon, a coastal, cattle-farming area.

After a week of eye irritation, Beckley pulled a worm from her eye. Over two weeks, doctors removed 13 more.

The worms were translucent and each less than half an inch long.

After they were removed, no more worms were found and she had no additional symptoms.

Eye worms are seen in several kinds of animals, including cats and dogs. They can be spread by different kinds of flies.

Two other types of Thelazia eye worm infections had been seen in people before, but never this kind, according to Richard Bradbury of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was the study's lead author.

The report was published in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Pornos for Pyros crossed my mind. Put on some tunes and pull up their wiki page. First I tend to look at "members and past members column" and see Mike Watt. Never knew he played with them but then why/how would I not general being in a position to know/need to know Mike Watt's movements. At some point I guess I lost why I was looking at wiki and get to Perry Farrell's page and see "Farrell believes aliens visit him and he accepts the knowledge and spirituality they bring". Famous people/forgotten musicians alike having tin hat beliefs isn't really out of the ordinary. However, so far, this is the first time stumbling on someone not yelling at their reflection in a store window that believes they get wisdom from aliens. But maybe he was talking about Mexican Mormons.

Twitter user Erika Gorman wrote that the flight attendant was "drunk and disorderly" and "belligerent."

"Boarding announcements were 'if your seatbelt isn't tight, you F^*%ed up,'" Gorman wrote.

Gorman also wrote that she went to the cockpit to speak with the captain. Police were present when the flight landed, she wrote.

A Trans States Airlines representative told Business Insider that the airline was "aware of reports of erratic behavior by a flight attendant on flight #4689 from Denver to Williston," adding that the flight attendant would not be working on Trans States flights while the airline investigated the incident.

A United representative told Business Insider it was also aware of the incident. The person said the airline compensated all the passengers on the flight "as a gesture of goodwill."

"We apologize for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused," the representative said.
Two things

1) The only way the flight attendant may have put your life in danger is when she got fed up with your **** and chucked you out the door Indian Jones style. Or poisoned your drink.

2) someone needs to tell Erika to never fly Southwest. Or encourage it and keep the camera rolling.

The part about the seat belts reminded me of this George Carlin bit.

Quote:
Imagine this, here we are, a plane full of grown human beings, many of us partially educated, and they're actually taking time out to describe the intricate workings of a belt buckle!

"Place the small metal flap into the buckle." Well, I ask for clarification at that point! "Over here, please, over here, yes, thank you very much. Did I hear you correctly? Did you say, ***8216;place the small metal flap into the buckle,' or, ***8216;place the buckle over and around the small metal flap?'

I'm a simple man, I do not posses an engineering degree, nor am I mechanically inclined. Sorry to have taken up so much of your time, please continue with the wonderful Safety Lecture.
