Following, I have a pair of the Peltor 6-S that are loved to death. They don't work half the time, and the other half they send weird high frequency noises.
I'd like a set of replacements, but it looks like they aren't being made anymore.

Here is where my confusion comes from - there seem to be two different versions.

I'd prefer to get one without the trough if possible, I'm not much for making permanent modifications. For some reason my trigger finger gets easily irritated by things like that trough in the trigger guard. I haven't shot one yet but almost guarantee the trough would make the gun a no-go for me. Even really curved triggers give me grief, like the standard triggers in non-Omega CZs; I have to change them out for the 85C style trigger. This is also the reason I haven't tried any other HKs, as the hammer-fired ones all have very curved triggers.

I was told it's because I'm not following through all the way with my trigger pull. |

After changing to this, problem solved: I may have to look up follow through and see if there are any improvements I can make. |

Nice, have some interest in a 97BD but the 10 round capacity makes me less interested. I had a SAR K2 .45 for awhile, but the crappy sights and lack of aftermarket options pushed me to get rid of it. 14 round capacity was nice, though. I have very little exposure to SAO, so I can't comment too much. My only tries were with 1911s that people wanted me to use at the range, and I was left completely underwhelmed all 3 times.

I use Peltor Rangeguards with upgraded gel ear cups from Noise fighters. I actually won the ear cups in an Instagram contest. The make a huge difference and seal significantly better. I still double up indoors but have yet to feel the need to outdoors. Battery life is great after a year of heavy shooting. I decided to preemptively replace them. I would like to eventually upgrade to compression electronics as opposed to plain cutoffs but what I have works.

Mechanix gloves. I don't really wear gloves to shoot with unless it's super cold, or super hot.
I went to one of our gun shows last weekend. It's kind of funny because I noticed most of the AR stuff was from "AR builders", aka people selling complete uppers, with maybe one assembled rifle. Seemed everything else was really heavy on hunting rifles and lever actions. I think the internet has finally killed the gun show. Not too many big dealers as there were 5-10 years ago. It was mostly smaller operation guys, and the booths were either low end stuff, or really high end stuff. Lots of used guns, lots of Chinese nylon. |

I'm building a second AR and this one i'm going for light weight. Can anyone recommend a skeletonized upper receiver? I'm looking at the F1 Firearms one and they seem pretty nice.
