Nah man, do that. You'll be fine and they'll be helpful. It'll teach you what you need and what you want.

There are matches that have a pro/am format where newb shooters are paired with pros/experienced shooters. You might check to see if there is one in your area.

I'm sure it will be fine. I think it's mostly because I haven't shot a rifle in a match in like 5 years, and I've never shot a precision match so I'm totally unprepared.

I had the same feeling a few months ago when I started shooting a Precision 22LR League. I had never done anything like it before and was pretty nervous. I showed up way early, introduced myself and helped them set up the stages. I got to know a few of the guys and show them I was willing to help and they were more than happy to help me out and learn everything. I'm not the most social person so my biggest hurdle was going to shoot at a place I've never been to with a bunch of people I've never met. I'm glad I made myself go though, precision .22 is a blast.

I've debated on getting into that. Seems like it would be fun

Bought this last week, Marlin 81, unsure of age, possibly 60s.

Reminds me of an old Marlin rifle my Dad had, probably from the 50's or so. It was a semi-auto .22 with a magazine about the size of a box of matches, yet I remember it being a hefty adult-sized rife, seemingly larger in all dimensions than the Winchester 94 he also had. Any idea what that could have been? I know it had a Marlin bullseye logo on the stock but that's all I got.

What's in the box?!

I need some advice. I have enough side cash saved up for a Shadow 2. My LGS got one in Monday. They called me immediately and told me. I said I would be over after work to get it. An hour later I get a call that the owner of the shop already sold it even though I had it on hold. I'm assuming that person had first dibs on it as they only get one or two a month. It was the Urban Grey model which I'm not a huge fan of so I'm not totally bummed.

My question is, do I just keep looking or do I keep saving for a TS Orange? I could also just get a regular TS which is like $1200. I've never spent this much at one time on a gun and I really don't want to regret it in a few months. I know I won't regret a Shadow 2 but considering I've shot an Orange a few times, I know how much better it really is.

Two different guns. What’s your purpose for it? If plinking and having fun without worry of rulesets get the TS orange or TS if it fits your hands well. If to meet a specific rule set get the one for that rule set. I love my shadow 2’s but they won’t beat a TS trigger out of the box or without a sao conversion even then I’d go TS.

Shadow 2 and TS Orange are really meant for different roles. TS Orange is SA and meant for Standard Division (IPSC). Shadow 2 is DA/SA and meant for Production Division (USPSA). They are completely different pistols.

I don't shoot IPSC or USPSA (yet) I'd like to get into it eventually but for now my main reason for wanting it is for steel. I shoot steel matches a few times a month and I'm regularly in the top 10 but I feel that I've gotten almost as much as I can out of my M&P Pro. I'm also slowly getting into 3 Gun which it would be used there as well. I don't own an all steel gun and a few of the CZ's I've shot just feel amazing.

You'll like either, but get the TS Orange.

Always choose single action only over DA/SA.

Why's that? I'm still learning the nuances of different CZ's.

My personal preference, nothing to do with CZs. Take it for what it's worth.

Having shot both back to back, TSO all the way. The Shadow 2 is nice. But the TSO is on another level. And the Czechmate is a step above that.

Couldn't resist. Got the pair for $949. Wasn't gonna get both, but ended up doing it. The kid can learn to shoot on the AR9 soon, and a Holosun sight. Glock selling by itself for $474.99 w/ Amareglo sights.

Does anyone know who makes PSA's stainless barrels? With the crazy deals they're doing right now, I've considered buying another upper.

I'm not sure about their stainless. But their regular barrels are supposedly FN.

It was their CHF barrels that were from FN. Not sure about the others, though. There's an arfcom and m4c thread on them if you can find it
