i find it fairly predictable as well. lots of subtle (and not so subtle) foreshadowing can be found. it's kind of like the theme of the whole show.

I love the show but heres a couple of predictable things, to me at least.

when dexter seems to be 'caught' by someone in the trunk of the car during the illegal-immigrant episode it was pretty predictable that he wouldnt get caught

it was pretty predictable that dexter would be the one to do something about his girlfriends husband

its pretty obvious that dexters sister (if she still lives after next sundays episode - as I dont think the doctors 'we'll share a cold one' comment is about any current ice truck killings) will end up hooking up with the black cop

Well, the illegal-immigrant episode I agree with.

However, the girlfriends husband I thought he was going to kill him. So I didn't predict that one correctly.

I don't see his sister hooking up with the ******* black cop at all. I don't know how you think that, but I'd be surprised if it happened.

I knew that dex isnt going to do anything to him because even though the dads a dick he hasnt killed anyone, yet. and if dex is to follow his 'fathers' rules he's not allowed to kill someone out of spite

really? before the doctor showed up they had been eye ****ing each other in every episode, and still continue to do so even though she has a boyfriend. toss into the mix the foreshadowing of him (the black cop) finally allowing someone into his life, that is - taking her home to dinner with the family, and how she got along very well with the sisters/mother lends me to believe that the story arc will end up there. I also see it very plausible in the mentor & mentee angle of things (where shes going to like him because he's starting to give her more respect as a cop than others on the force)

I bet they dont hook up but I bet it will be implied. I think Doogs will end up saving her.

Having read a lot of detective/mystery/suspense novels where psychopaths are depicted merely as being monsters, I like the fact Dexter doesn't exist in a vacuum, that he's a product of his stepfather's upbringing. We're beginining to see flashes of his life with his real father too, maybe they'll show what made him a psychopath in the first place.

BTW, the show is based on a novel "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" which I haven't read yet.

Did you see the last episode? I think we know what made him a psychopath after the last one...

Haven't seen it yet. I usually watch the Saturday night rerun. Don't spoil it for me! Maybe I should stop reading this thread.

Search for Dexter, go catch up, haha.

Or maybe we should make a seperate thread titled spoilers?

Pretty good...not the exact way I thought it would turn out. It felt rushed though...

Still really good!

has anyone seen the two leaked episodes for season 2?

This show is FANTASTIC.

We just blew through season 1 this weekend... what a total mind ****!

Harv had recommended it to us a few months ago, but I never got around to watching it.

This thing is incredible, and scary as hell.

Not scary like horror scary, but scary in that by the end of season 1 we were rooting for Dexter to kill people. You actually are HAPPY to see him tie his unconscious victim to a table, strapped down with plastic wrap, naked, and to cut them up with a knife. We're normal people, and we're SMILING to see people strapped to a table and killed in a horrific manner.

That's some sick ****, the way the show can turn your morality around.

the first one is the first season and its just different enough to make you go WTF?!

if the second book turns out to be about what goes down in season 2 I cannot wait for season 2 to get more involved.

they're ~300pages and you should be able to blow through them in a couple hours.

That's because he kills people like child molesters that deserve it!

And yeah...I watched it every week religiously last year...stoked they're having another season.

I know they deserve it.

It's still SICK. The first episode when he strapped down the child molester/murderer, the wife and I were so disgusted that we turned it off! She freaked out.

I picked the show back up this weekend and just couldn't put it down.

The premise is so clever overall. I've not seen anything like it before. I'm ready for the next season. Got my HD Showtime subscription this time around.
