Default Can you safely reverse fan direction?

Can the OEM rad fans from a 2014 STI be run safely in a reverse direction, aka pusher and not puller configuration? I take it the fan blades are not removable based on their appearance... Worried more about how reversing their flow may impact how the ECU controls them and or electrical issues.

It may work but the blades won't be nearly as efficient running backwards.

All the ECU will see is you overheating... Unless you mean to put them in front of the rad on purpose... but that would be far less efficient and also lead to hot temps.

This a custom setup. I will be adding a 9" SPAL fan that is reversible. Also can run on stock wiring/relay. Just confirming that reversing polarity wont cause any issues for the ECU or any fan control chips.

I need to mount a second fan on the condenser to push air into the engine bay. The car is running a half sized rad and once the single rad fan turns on, all the air goes to the rad and no air is passing through the intercooler. I confirmed by unplugging rad fan and saw IAT go down.
