After we moved, I bought a Hyken from Stapes as well, at the insistence of the wife who did not want to pay Steelcase prices. I must say it is a pretty good chair.

Do you really need one right now? Can you wait and not pay some extra fee? My 3080 was a bit less with tax than 800.

Unfortunately, seems to not exist anymore. Maybe another newer model of the same line? Then again, the days of 1080p monitors may be coming to an end..

Yup. I have a perfectly fine working 1070. Going to try and use this site.

Its $130 mark up so not too ridiculous.

Any other tips to acquire a card? I heard 96Accord is going to microcenter in Parkville soon.

I was able to get mine through a notification on the stock drops discord.

https://discord.com/invite/stockdrops

Took about three weeks till I got lucky.

Yea the mark up isn't too bad, but if you can wait, maybe you can save yourself $130.

If you look back through the last couple pages I think most of the tactics for getting a new card are spelled out.

...and my 3080 arrived last night!

I got it installed yesterday only to have a DRAM fault when I tried to boot up afterwards. Had to reset the BIOS and it looks like it's from when I switch my RAM over to the DCOP profile, so it's back to default right now. I'll try to update the BIOS and see if it's more stable afterwards, but otherwise I might have to replace the RAM.

Have more additional clean up and mod work in the case and then will post pictures this weekend.

With the new new prices this year I don’t think AIB 3080 MSRPs are under $800 at all.

then add in the "new" tariff... EVGA, ZOTAK, Asus, and MSI have already bumped the prices on their homepages. the card i was looking at went from $809 to $899.

I was vacillating about my ASUS TUF OC 3080, but with where prices are now I’m fine and can be happy. Whatever new 3080 Ti card comes out will be priced out of where I’m willing to pay considering the latest prices of the current cards.

Frack. I was going to get more Crucial Ballistix RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 RAM today. But it's $100. Fracking supply chain issues and Trump tariffs. Guess I'll wait. I knew I should have put in 32GB in the first place. LOL

Awwwwww yiss. My Samsung 970 EVO Plus and 2nd set of TridentZ 16GBx2 DDR4 RAM just arrived. Along with my keyboard and Logictech mouse. Nothing to write home about concerning the last two, except they're white and RGB to match my In Win tower.

Now I'm struggling with a monitor. I really want a white one, but anything white is either overpriced or underperforms. I might get a 24.5" or 27" Alienware monitor, but I don't think I want IPS. It's tough finding a white VA monitor that has more than 60/75/100Hz.

If you really want white and you're ballsy enough, get what you want in black, remove guts, paint with vinyl dye or plastic enamel and there ya go

tape off the screen and spray paint the monitor. Its all 90 degree corners. It wont get scratched since it doesnt get moved around.

We vinyl wrapped the fiancée’s case and plan to do the same for her monitor. I’d do that before painting...but some of the case would DEFINITELY have been easier to paint.
