I finally finished season 2 last night, what a phenomenal piece of work. Prior to starting this season, I watched the official Season 1 recap that they put out on the Netflix Youtube page. It was something like 15 minutes long and it did help, but in hindsight I wish I had re-watched season 1 right before starting season 2. When season 3 comes out, I'll watch S1 and S2 back to back before jumping into it.

Tastes differ, of course, but in my humble opinion both seasons are a flop. Especially the 2nd one.

You joined just...

Your opinions are bad, and you...

Oh bother.

Ciri grew up FAST. S1, ok she looks 10. S2, umm wtf, jailbait? S3 she's going to be stunning.

*artist rendition* - but still

^^ So I looked it up, the actress who plays Ciri was born in 2001. Filming for Season 1 started in 2018, so she was 17 at the time, but you're right, she looked 10 filming for season 2 took place late 2020 through mid 2021, so she's 19-20 in that season. So yeah, she's gonna be stunning in S3 alright.

They bleached her eyebrows to make her look younger in season 1. Sure she grew still, but not bleaching her eyebrows made a huge difference. Just look at promo and red carpet pictures for S1 and she looks way older than she did in the show.

I loved season 2! Of course, my only prior exposure to witcher lore besides season 1 was playing the computer games, Witcher 1, 2 and 3.

I hear a lot of book fans had umbrage with season 2 because how some of characters (the other witchers) were handled or killed off. Others just didn't like the fact the show runner is female and felt that the female characters overshadowed poor Geralt.

I liked Season 2, but I thought Season 1 was much better. It felt like the entire Baba Yaga story was nothing more than an efficient way to introduce the Wild Hunt and that made it feel lacking as the central theme of the season. I bet Season 3 will be good though.

I didn't much care for season 1. Season 2 was entertaining enough, though. Personally, as a fan of the games first and foremost, I found the Kaer Morhen set to be the star of the show. It was quite convincing, and felt very familiar.

I'm part way through season 1 now. Apparently I watch things several years after everyone else does. I dig it.

I still wish they made Triss a redhead like in the Games.

Season 1 Triss is brown hair, season 2 she's def red, but not bright red, dark ish. You have a good point, though.

Maybe Season 3 she'll be bright red/shorter (or put up) hair from the games.

I scanned through all of her appearances for research and just kinda noticed a couple things about the show in general.

1) Yenn is like off the charts hot in S1, especially with those eyes. My God. Then takes a downturn in S2, pretty sure because she lost weight (like she needed to anyway, JFC). There's S2 promo shots where she just looks emaciated.

2) I really didn't remember S1 at all, wow. Except for Ep5, which has been revisited, uh, a few times. For...reasons.

Netflix annouces that Witcher S4 will begin filming soon but without Henry Cavill. Liam Hemsworth will be the new Geralt.

I'm sure that is going to ruffle some feathers...

Guessing because he will be Superman again. Maybe time issue.

I haven't even watched season 2 yet. Doesn't sound like I've missed much.

I still have even higher hopes for season 3 but after that, I can't find a **** to give. Liam Hemsworth sucks.

On the fence with this. He made a much better Geralt than Superman, but what do I know.

Finally got around to S2 and it was outstanding, an improvement in everyway, especially the actors feeling more comfortable in their characters skin. And when comparing Witcher to other series like Shadow and Bone, Wheel of Time, and most glaringly Rings of Power, the adult themes and mature dialogue put Witcher a gaping tier above the rest.

Sounds like an ominous future though with writers/producers not big fans of source material, or out right unfamiliar of it as a whole, and going their own direction to put their 'signature' down (on others work). Ya know, over-writing on an already established fictional world to "reflect the world we live in today"...

Two episodes left. The best parts are mediocre and there's been a few cringey scenes. There's no reason for this season to be watched. Bad editing and storytelling in parts. I'm not watching anymore live action Witcher. Just sticking with the anime.
