If vehicle A has a 10 gallon larger fuel tank than vehicle B, but they get similar mileage, is that extra 150 miles really that impressive? I've said it before in this thread, what Lucid has done is impressive but it's also completely unnecessary. They could've created a car with 60% the capacity and it would still be irrelevant to 99.9% of users. At somepoint it becomes just a waste of resources and a reason to inflate the final price tag.

Part of the reason for that huge battery is to keep the C rate down when pushing out that 1,001 hp or whatever they settled on.

Came across my first EQS sighting in the wild, parked at work, owner unknown.
Ive been kind of championing this car as a from the ground up EV design by MB, but I'll be honest, I found the overall design underwhelming and too jelly bean in person. Just didn't have the physical presence I would expect in a flagship luxury sedan. OTOH, when I saw a Lucid Air in person, that thing had flagship presence to me. |

At first I thought that EQS was a VW sedan of some sort. I find most European car designs to be uninspiring, mostly from VW, Audi, BMW and even MB.

I'd love to see the Honda Urban EV released. I have no idea what the CV is and really don't care. I had a 75 Civic CVCC and would love to have a car like that again (without the horrible transmission and rust speed leased from Fiat). https://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/h...an-ev-concept/ |

One of the things I got a laugh at seeing the electric F-150 in person is that there are zero concessions to being more aerodynamic. Just a EV brick F-150.
The Kia EV6 and a couple other new designs show how EVs don't have to be a squished jellybean, and use some new aero design elements like the flush door handles and low drag wheels that I think add to the look not detract. Unless your Lexus, their have to grab it from underneath flush mounted door handles are dumb. |

I'm old enough to remember the Ford Taurus being hailed for a low cd but also called a lifeless ugly jelly bean.

The front of the EQS reminds me of a 2009 civic.

That's a big part of why I'm finding the EQS design underwhelming, definitely gives me vibes of that generation Civic ***129300;

Haven't seen anyone mention the new Fisker Ocean but I really like the look and would look at the Ultra as they have a suggested list at $49,999 with a 350 mile range and 550HP 0-60 in 3.6

We need a platform agnostic electric car thread

He’s expanding the light of consciousness to the stars. He only promised production in 2021. He probably meant December 2021 when he said that back in November of 2019. This delay is surely means there will be tons of trucks rolling off the line in January of 2023, so only 13 months off schedule. Gosh! Can’t you give a little slack to a genius that’s single handedly saving humanity?! |

Picked up 40A rated Tesla to J1772 plug adapter from Amazon (thanks to multiple gift card credit, paid $50 OOP), will find it useful in a few random situations.
EVCARS Tesla to SAE J1772 Adapter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09574B7HQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share https://i.imgur.com/931MCy7.jpeg 1. Have several friends who live 50-100 miles away all Tesla owners, who are more than willing to let me charge off their level 2 mobile charging cables if I need to throw some range back on the battery while visiting and hanging out. 2. There are several random public Tesla lvl 2 destination chargers in my area (most are set to their factory default 40A output setting) and best, Tesla has no means to make these pay stations so they are all free. 3. We have a spare Tesla mobile charging cable which is smaller lighter and less bulky than my Porsche Mobile connect charging cable which I can use at work to plug into their parking lot outlet.
