It's a 2019 GLI but it doesn't have the red stripe in the grill?

Of course it does but it doesn't have the ugly facelift red trim on the bottom of the bumper:

Oh ok, that's what you were talking about. Yeah, this is what car companies do when they make really ugly and cheap looking sedans. Throw something on there to distract from all that mess.

i know i'm late to the party... but it's not just tsc as the issue.

my ex had a '00 Si that saw maybe two auto-x events in the six years we owned it. replaced the rear pads twice before 100k, fronts once. sister had a '99 Si with the same thing.

Then there's the other part where the inner pad was worn to the backing plate while the outer pad had ~5mm left on it. Did you guys see the same thing there?

Ended up getting an accessport and flashing the car this weekend. Its a completely different animal and probably put 100 plus miles just driving around. Power band is wider and so much smoother. Instant power in all the gears now. I liked the JB4 but a lot can be said about a proper tune. I have an eqt stage 1 tune I am waiting for now to hold me over till spring and a proper protune.

WTF, the base model MK8 gets a volume and tuning knob!

Still has the crap haptic steering wheel and buried climate controls.

Waiting for the MK8.5 to see if anything gets fixed. Got 4 years of bumper bumper warranty left on my 7.5 and will be paid off in exactly one year.

There's something to be said for getting a decent car at a 21% discount with 1.9% free money from the factory. Never again?

It will happen again eventually... At this rate maybe not this decade, but eventually.

My 2017 Mk7 Sport was $5400 off MSRP (~20%?)

The Macan we got in June 2020 was 8% off, probably the LAST good time to buy a car for awhile.

Got the BRZ in 2013 for $1900 off which was tough, had to go out of state.

The Chevy SS was 20% off ($50k down to $39k)

And the STI Type-RA was $5000 off (10%) since it sat on the lot for 6mos...

I probably won't be buying new again for awhile unless its something super cheap or electric. In the mean time it will probably be cheap Subaru's I can clean up easily LOL

I was debating holding off on getting my 19 as I was very curious to see what the 22 was going to be. I am glad I didn't wait, not only did I pay below MSRP i took advantage of 0% from VW at the time. Seeing more and more pricing come out on the mk8 in the 60-70k range on these cars is insane. I get supply issues but no way shape or form in a mk8 worth that much when I have found 18-19 rs3's in that range.

Could not believe my eyes seeing an Mk8 gti at the car show topping over $40k. No mark up. Wild.

Installed the Neuspeed Power Module and am extremely pleased with it. $399, two connections, nice increase in power. It might not be as sophisticated as the JB4 but it gives the significant bump in power I was looking for. Feels similar to the increase I got from the GIAC tunes I had on my past two GTIs.

I learned that the GTI is too low and has too much bumper overhang to get up ramps. To get the under tray off for access to the lower connection I just drove up on some pieces of wood. Gave enough clearance to get the job done.

You can find them for $200 all day on the forums, I picked one up last fall and it's great. Just enough power, though with my DSG, I found to really utilize it, I have to manually downshift and not let the computer do the shifting for me when I want to use that extra few PSI at WOT.

The highest trim 2022 wrx is starting at $42,000. I was shocked to see that as well. What's the new STI going to cost??

I don't think we will ever see deals like that again. I got a 2019 MK7 GTI S with DSG for 24,700 with zero APR. When I went in to finalize the paperwork I saw a GLI with DSG on the lot. The salesman said I could have that for 22,700 with zero APR....Insane good deals. Ultimately I went with the GLI because it was a newer built date and had a ton more standard equipment.

I'm still running my JB1 5+ years later and still enjoy the extra power. It's been pretty seamless otherwise. Do recommend.

Just googled it... Sweet Jesus

MK7 prices are wild now. I really should have bought RadioHeads 2 door a couple years ago. Would be worth more than I would have paid for it
