Default What is needed to go from 235whp to 285whp on Shivs dyno?

right now I am at 235whp and torque (on shiv's dyno, stock sti's make ~215 from what I was told) and my mods are as follows:

TBE
Pinks
Vishnu Reflash and Tuning
and a VF series turbo (which one I have no idea, any help is greatly appreciated)
uppipe

my goal is about 35-50 more horspower. I want to get there on a VF turbo if capable OR at least a bolt on turbo. What else would be needed?

Dyno Plot:

Boost and A/F:

Change thread title to add Shiv's dyno

Added the Boost and A/F plot to see if that helps determine what turbo I have. I looked and I can see the markings, but I cannot make out what they say.

considering that a stg 4 is only making 235 on that dd dyno. a larger turbo is needed for your goal. 20g or bigger.

That seems low for a vf series turbo on Vishnu's dyno. I pust down 250whp on Vishnu's dyno with a vf22. 250whp is about the average for a vf series turbo on Vishnu's dyno. Did Shiv mention if there was something wrong or why you werent hitting 250whp?

He told me that he is not sure what turbo I have but that it is not a VF34. He mentioned that a Vf34 reaches peak torque higher in the RPMs and makes about 15 more whp. He also said that the A/F leaning out may be just a faulting reading (he says he has seen it before) and not it actually leaning out. Told me to make sure I have a fuel pump and if it has any problems to bring it back. Real nice guy though, gets the thumb up from me.

Please elaborate. I went to him because he is local and the previous owner told me I had a stage 2 kit from vishnu. I really could care less about what the numbers say on his dyno, but I want about 50 more hp.

perhaps you have a vf39??? take a picture of the front of the turbo up close if you can and post it on here... we'll try to help you identify it... perhaps it could be a vf35??

What would you need the pic of? I can take some tomorrow. It is just hard as heck to get in there and see the writing on the compressor housing.

Default more power

why dont you get an alky inj. system, you can run higher psi cause the alky actually cools down your cylenders. you could hit 300 with that and a tune. i think it matters how much you abuse your car too. it wont last long a 300hp with a rough driver...

Shiv put down 293whp on a dynojet with my 02 wrx and vf30 on pump gas. With 104 octane thrown in i put down 306whp and ran a 12.6@112. Just food for thought.

Get someone else to tune it and maybe you'll get the numbers you want.
