02 Bugeye. putting on a v7 sti front clip
I got into a light accident with my 02 wrx 6 speed swap. It looks like I am going to buy a front clip.
I understand i might have to drill out some welds to take off my front clip. Do i need to weld in the new front clip? If i get the JDM hid headlights and the harness kit is there anything else id need or is it plug and play for the front clip? Anything else i should look for as far as parts to be replaced. Only thing (besides the hood and radiator + left headlight was my power steering pump pulley). Engine started sounded great. crack in the timing cover but only ran the car for a couple seconds to make sure it was okay. Any info would be appreciated!

Similar incident happened to a friend of mine, I think he did have to get some welding done on the new front clip

Ended up cutting the bolts off my bumper beam taking it off. We cut the squares off the frame. Basically cut behind the circles of the air bag sensors. Welded on the new v7 sti from bumper beam. Kept the holes on the new sti frame . My radiator lower support was rusted out so that’s why I welded the whole new front on. I got pics of it everything matched up great for just having a welder do it |
