I'll let ya know, hopefully its ok, if not like your i'll just have to make my own lines. Ordered a AEM UEGO wideband and SMY dual gauge cluster today. Only if my wife knew how much i've spent on this car in a short time shhhhhh....

Still deciding on tuning, I haven't used opensource since my 08, was going to order a tactrix 2.0 cable and have eric from torqued tune it with carberry but still reading up on how to set everything up again. I actually bought a cheap windows laptop just to use for the tuning but I believe I have to download ECUflash, Romraider and all new definitions.

Its an 03 WRX ECU in my 05 so 16bit ecu. Eventually want flex fuel tune so trying to see how it all works together again as I again i haven't dealt with opensource in some time.

Finially received my Cobb FMIC core and cold pipes last week as they've been on backorder for a month. Installed that and realized the cold side piping was hitting the FPR causing the piping to sit high and hit the hood and blocking the gauge. So had to bend that bracket back and now the piping sits where it supposed to and not hitting the hood. Still have to cut up the front bumper to install it but that might be done this weekend.

Also installed cooling 4 mod.

Ordered a Tactrix cable last week that has still yet to ship. Also got my initial map from Eric so now just have to wait for the tactrix cable to come in to get it loaded. Put some coolant in the car but can't start it till I obviously load the new map. Have to pick up some power steering fluid and new brake fluid to flush the brakes and clutch. Hopefully she'll be started by next weekend.

Finally connected power and tested the fuel system for leaks. Immediately the Cobb AN fittings to stock hard lines were worthless. First it was the feed line and when I put them on I felt like they were not tight enough and would not work.

Well I tried them anyway and I was right, fuel spraying right out. Thankfully I still had the plastic ones that came with the kit (had to dig the one I put in the trash out, thankfully never emptied the garage trash). Took off the Cobb AN fittings, put the plastic quick connects on after spending tons of time trying to get them into the fuel lines.

After they were hooked up, primed the system again and no more leaks! Didn’t start it so couldn’t set pressure but with the car in test mode it constantly went to about 38psi. Once I get my tactrix in and can let her idle I’ll get it to the correct pressure.

After I went on the Cobb website and unfortunately for me when I pull up 05 WRX they come up so it makes you think they work, we’ll really they’re for 04-07 STi/06-07 WRX. Never paid close enough attention when I ordered them so now stuck with $40 AN fittings.

The ones I got from Russell are working great. I even hard wired the fuel pump to set pressure on the FPR and cranked it up to 60 psi to really test the lines and fitting and they work great. Just a friendly FYI.

Thanks. I’ll replace them eventually back to AN and hardwire the wire pump but one thing at a time. Want to have her at least started and idling by this weekend.

Sorry small clarification. I "direct" wired the pump from the battery (like using a power probe) only to run the pump at full power, outside of the ignition just to set the FPR and test for leaks one last time after I had done pressure testing on each line before installing. Then reconnected the fuel pump to the oem setup.

So I started my car with the old tune still and she fired right up. Left her running for 10 seconds just to check quick for leaks and thankfully i did cause i forgot to tighten the oil feed bolt line to banjo bolt connection. So leaked out the old oil that I needed to change anyway. Tightened the line up and proceeded to change the oil and put in fresh break in oil.

Tactrix cable was supposed to be here on thursday and of course is delayed (DAMN YOU USPS) so now i'm sitting here dying to get it in to just load the new tune so I can bleed the power steering and coolant. Ordered a already assembled serial cable to be able to datalog the wideband with Romraider.

Installed my SMY gauge cluster and AEM Uego wideband. Killing me being so close to starting it all due to a missing cable.

If anybody is near Greensboro, NC with a tactrix cable i can borrow for 5 mins to load my tune let me know

Installed my KSTech hood scoop delete. I like it but did break one of the bolts so now one of the corners isn't tight down and just annoys me, stupid me! Not noticeable unless you knew about it, like me.

Also clean, sanded and sprayed my wiper arms as they were highly deteriorated and didn't want to spend money on new ones. Didn't take any photos of those but they def look a lot better than they did.

Finally got my Tactrix cable in today and took a while but got the new tune loaded. Fired her up to burp the coolant and let her idle. Adjusted the FPR to 43 and was trying to get all the air out of the PS lines. Saw no leaks after about 5 mins of idling, THEN the car died. Went to fire her back up and the battery was dead MOTHERFKER!!!!!

Put the battery on a charger and will go back at it tomorrow.

So finally able to take the car for a short test ride and made a short log for Torqued Performance. Car idles great but when going on a drive feels like it won’t get out of its own way. Will buck and get stuck at like 2500 rpms and not roll smooth. Sent the log and Eric said everything looked great so unsure what could be the issue.

After the short drive also had coolant spraying out of the upper coolant reservoir hose that connects to the bottom. Like it built up so much pressure it had no where to go. Don’t think the brand new thermostat is opening as when I was trying to burp the system the air would never get hot and the coolant level wouldn’t drop as it normally would when the thermostat opens.

So have to figure that out and why the car is bucking and not wanting to really move at 2500rpms. Starts building boost but won’t move.

I actually ordered a new one cause I forgot the previous owner had too large of an oring on it and when tighten it cracked the lower lip that holds the oring in place. Unsure if that is the cause but we shall see when it comes in next week.

So got my new MAF sensor installed, waiting on the hose that goes from the crossover to the expansion tank as that is what tore and starting spilling coolant all over the place. Hopefully should be here by thursday and i can brup the coolant system and test out if the MAF sensor fixed the issue.

Still attempting to burp the power steering system. I can tell you if I knew how much of a PITA and how much this Chase Bays system causing the fluid to aerate i would've just kept the stock system. Not sure this kit is worth $350 or whatever it was.

Also replaced the driver side front caliber and bleed the entire brake system. Man so much junk came out and fluid was black.

So what I did for my Chase Bays was I took a 7amp corded drill set to full speed and attached an extension with a socket to turn the PS pump over with that, while holding the fluid tank up enough to help feed the pump with PS fluid. Then ran it for a while after it was pulling the fluid on it's own and had my kid turn the steering wheel full lock back and forth a few times. I did have the radiator out so I was able to reach PS pulley nut just fine that way.

Worked like a charm.

Not glad you are having issues, but glad that it wasn't just me who had trouble.

Havent posted in a while, been chasing an issue with the car bogging when attempting to drive under light accelerator pressure. First bought a new OEM MAF sensor, didn't fix anything, started to get a low voltage CEL and thought it was from my mini battery. Changed it out to the full size one that came with the car and again shortly got the low voltage CEL. Don't have a battery tester to check the battery or alternator so judging both batteries that are new were dying, I pointed it toward the alternator. Bought a new one of those and still same issues after charging the batteries back up.

Finally purchased a smoke tester and found 2 leaks. One huge one at the inlet to turbo (lower section wasn't fully seated) and one off the intake manifold where the OEM FPR vaccum line connected on the passenger side. Fixed those and still had the bogging issue.

Decided to take off the manifold and check the fuel system. Found 2 fuel injector buckets that come with the ID 1050x had torn o-rings even after lubing them up prior to install. So ordered 6 o-rings (to have spares) yesterday and waiting on those to come in.

Also noticed I have an oil leak near the rear of the motor, likely rear main seal but can't get it high enough on jacks to really check. So have been wanting a lift to put in the garage but with the price of them, bought a set of QuickJack 7000SLX to also lift the truck.

Sooo those are on the way and supposed to be here next week. Hoping the o-rings come in this week as I go to Colorado over a long weekend to visit my brother, really want to test out and see if those fix the issue.

Update. Was taking the car for a datalog yesterday, tuner just wanted a 20 minute cruise log to make sure everything was good. About 10 minutes in, I thought the transmission went. Thankfully was on a side road and able to park in a random small parking spot of the road. Called the wife up to pick me up, went home got the truck and buddies car hauler and went back and pick up the car.

Car didn't have a problem going into any gear but wouldn't move so wasn't sure if the clutch (new supposedly) went out or the actually transmission. Didn't smell clutch burning so figured it was the transmission as the original owner made mention that the shop that did the transmission work screwed something up. Didn't think anything of it as the few times I drove it never had an issue.

Thankfully I had the quickjacks as I put her up in the air and proceeded to tear out the transmission.

Started yesterday, took off intercooler pipping, starter, wheels and that was about it as I had a neighborhood Halloween party to go to. Got back at it this morning (highly hungover) and took everything out in about 2 hours. Quickjacks definitely helped the process.

Output shaft spun freely with no resistance. Proceeded to take off the clutch which is a Competition clutch that was put on new with the work. Clutch looks fine to me (let me know what you think).

Flywheel on the other hand, not so much.

Pilot bearing was destroyed, unknown if this was from a bad clutch install or just age of the bearing. I don't know but instead of just buying a new bearing, i'm going to buy a new flywheel assembly.

I'm still deciding if I even want to put the 5speed back in. IDK if I want to buy upgraded gears and have it built or do a JDM swap, or what not. Either option is $$$ that my wife might kill me spending right now. So not really sure what I want to do. Even if I don't do either option I still might have a shop go through the transmission to verify it is fine.

I do know I need to buy new axles, ones in the car are junk and don't feel like rebuilding them. Passenger side outter tie rod, new ball joints, basically just refresh everything.

Frgot, this would also explain why I thought the rear main seal was leaking. Must've been cracked for sometime.

Thats no bueno man.
I hope you can figure out what caused the failure before replacing anything. Id hate to see it happen again and destroy new parts.

My guess is bad clutch install with no alignment tool. But I'm not transmission expert. I have decided that I plan on doing the JDM Spec B 6MT swap. I like the longer 5th and 6th of it, don't care about DCCD and can reuse my original rear diff without switching rear axles. I know it has an open front diff and VLSD rear which can be changed eventually. Found one for 1800 that was just the tranny with 55k miles but will probably wait till next year to purchase one, idk.

Whelp went ahead and ordered an JDM Spec B 6 speed. I like the longer 5th and 6th gears, I know it has ****ty diffs but those can be changed out later on and I don't care about DCCD. Got it for 1650 with "about" 60k miles. Still have a bunch of stuff to order for it, clutch, clutch fork, flywheel, shift rod/linkage, AT driveshaft but should be here next week. Having it delivered to a buddies business so I can save on the lift fees.

Went today and picked up the transmission from my buddies business. Looks clean, and still have a bunch of stuff to order. Need to get the VSSpro from iWire with plug and play harness and 90 other things but hey at least its in my garage.
