Default JN Garage Jun Lemon Wagon Replica

Hi I am Joey aka Gigs aka JN Garage , Due to Imgur going the way of Photobucket I have redone my entire build thread here with pictures hosted on my own website so that they will forever be on the internet for your viewing pleasure and to laugh at my poor life choices !

I have owned this car since March 2013 with 105,000 miles and it was my daily driver for a few years.

2013

2020

Winter 2013

Here is my old build log from 2015 if you want more history of the car
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2712350

I have since sold the 2006 Legacy GT and acquired a 2013 Volkswagen Touareg TDI with 59,000 miles to serve as my daily driver and occasional weekend tow vehicle. It can tow 7700 pounds so more than enough to safely tow a Bugeye. Did I mention it also makes 406 lbs of torque and gets 30+ MPG on the highway ? Its pretty glorious and comfortable , I plan on replacing it with a 2016 model whenever it starts to get a little older somewhere around 2023-2024. It also has a powertrain warranty to 2023 or 100,000 miles whatever comes first , Thanks EPA !

The goal of this wagon is the same as it always has been , go out and have fun with friends. If I happen to stumble upon a Gridlife or GTA podium one day that would be equally cool too.

Its going to take years to finish and likely will never be finished with continuous improvements always being made. I want to experience FIA Grade 1 and 2 circuits with the station wagon I have owned since I was 23 in my 30s.

So this is a rough plan for the next few years which is obviously going to change but not seriously

Spring / Summer 2020
Outfit my new houses garage with tools and supplies to maintain a track car.
Finish my sim rig in my new basement.

Drive the car and enjoy it honing my skills as a driver , photographer and person while tying up loose ends.

Fall 2020 / Winter 2020 - 2021
Goal of doing Gridlife Fall Gingerman in October 2020 once I am done with home furnishings.
Possibly Look for an E46 BMW Wagon to make into a pure track car or GLTC build

2021
Continue chassis upgrades along with seat time , aiming to compete at Gridlife events at Gingerman and Mid Ohio along with a handful of other track days such as Subaru Speed Expo. Possibly a trip to Canada for CSCS as well !

SCCA Empire Hill Climb

2022
Jun or Cusco Tribute livery
Super Lap Battle COTA Enthusiast Class
Road Atlanta ?
Road America ?

Upgrades Wanted for the Driver
Driver Seat time
Hans Device
Race Suit
Lose 50 pounds

Upgrades Wanted for the Chassis
FIA Seat and Harnesses
MCS 1 Way Motorsports shocks
AP Racing 355mm 6 Pot Road front brake kit
PFC 08 Pads
18x9.5 +38 RPF1s
SCCA Hillclimb Spec Roll bar
9 Lives Racing Rear Wing
Jun or Second Prodrive Bumper with Open Track day / GTA Spec Aero Package
Backup engine built around a Version 10 EJ207 Bottom End

I want the ability to change from Gridlife Street to Hillclimb / GTA / Track day spec with the change of a bumper and rear hatch.

The end goal is to just have fun and experience as many fun tracks in North America as possible

Was never really sure how I felt with these cars missing the rails for roof racks, but you convinced me otherwise lol.

Its more finding a suitable black E46 Wagon so I can do an Adidas livery with a 7AT DCT gearbox.

Kinda like a BTCC homage

Its been about 3000 miles with the VW and so far its been excellent averaging around 25-27mpg.

Some things I would like to change before towing
  • Downsize from 19s to 18s
  • Full Size Spare
  • New Tires

Gotta said Road America terrifies me too... so fast.

I feel like I really need to have my car fully sorted before I get on that track.

Default Voodoo 13 Lateral Link arms

Since the world has slowed down a little bit progress has been slow

Ordered all the boots and accessory kits to rebuild the front axles who knows when they will arrive.

These Voodoo 13 lateral link arms arrived from Dewey at Six Star Motorsports and they are just wonderful. Should give me a ton of adjustment and will be installed with all new hardware on the rear end !

Also gave me an excuse to start playing with the lights I bought for streaming video games and taking pictures !

If you play video games I stream Escape From Tarkov a few times a week on twitch here
https://www.twitch.tv/gigs_games

Enough rambling though here are some pictures of these beautiful lateral links

Almost impossible to beat for under $500

https://voodoo13usa.com/shop/04-07-w...ral-link-arms/

If you want a set give Dewey or Marvin a call @ (224) 653 - 9626

Extremely high quality , I am making a point to utilize products and services that are all based in the USA, Japan , Australia , UK or Germany.

I really don't trust any of the Chinese / Taiwanese sourced part companies like Silvers , BC , Mishimoto , whiteline and such.

I mean torque is fun but if I am going to chase it then the engine will have 6/8 cylinders

Progress is dismally slow due to shipping delays and life changes. I close on my house at the end of this month finally. I don't get occupancy until July so come July / August I will finish as much of the interior as I can.

Progress is gonna be pretty slow as the house needs a little love in the HVAC and concrete leveling areas so that will be where a lot of money will be spent this year.

Its looking like I won't see any track time until late 2021 now unfortunately
