My other thing is that riding around with my wife on the VStrom was surprisingly comfortable. I have no idea what it would be like on the Tiger. I'll probably just keep the V.

I got to look one over at my local dealer, but they stack the bikes in their showroom so tight that I would have needed a salesman to roll it out so I could sit on it. Didn't want to waste their time since I wasn't buying. It's definitely on my list when I start looking for a new machine.

I am not sure about the value of the trade for the Strom, but looking at the pictures, the Tiger looks like it has the most comfortable seat ever.

You can buy a tiger 1050 with less than 20,000 miles on it for roughly $6000 out here. There is one for $6500 with 5800 miles. I would sell the strom outright and buy something else

Yeah, I'm probably compromising too much by trying to find a trade partner. I'm going to email him and let him know that I'm going to pass.

Closer to 2k with all the trimmings. The PO went to the dealership and had them order/install everything. Makes 74hp at the wheel now... Not that I need more power, but I lust after those rear sets, exhaust and seat..... |

Stumbled across a pic of my old bike, 1975 cb550. Loved it but ended up having to sell it because it was just too uncomfortable for me on the highway. Now have my eye on a 1999 zrx1100 that's for sale here, anyone have experience with one?

Went for a ride this past Sunday.
I recorded most of it on my GoPro. I may or may not post it. In front of the Painted Ladies (yeah, yeah...the parking job is questionable. I was only there for a few minutes) Coit Tower A view of The Rock from the Marina Green Golden Gate Bridge...I don't think the fog ever really left. Made by way back north into Marin County. In front of the west entrance of Skywalker Ranch. Ended my ride with some fish tacos and a root beer float |

I have the Sena SMH5, which I just got last week. It's worked out pretty well. For some reason, it will not make or receive calls. Music is coming from my phone. However, when making or receiving a call, the iPhone isn't transferring the signal (call) to the headset. A little screen comes up stating "Sena," "iPhone," or "Speaker." This is when I'm testing it. I select Sena, and 10 seconds later, it reverts back to the iPhone. I can listen to music just fine, although its a feature that I'm not really that interested. The best part of having this headset is listening to directions from Google Maps as I rode around San Francisco. Once my iPhone got to about 25%, I hooked up my portable charger to it and placed both of them in one of panniers. No loss of signal or sound. I think once I figure out what's going on with the calling feature, overall, for $97, it's a very good value. |

As for signals, I do actually. I wired some LED's into handguards on my last SuMoto. They were badass! If you go LED, you'll probably need to wire in a resister to get them to blink at normal speed. There are some DIY's on the internet about this that I followed. With a soldering iron, some heat wrap, electrical tape and $5 in wire I was all good. It took me longer to tear the bike apart than it did to wire it. I'll see if I can dig something up. |
