Lightbulb Suggestions to improve/change the Tri-State Forum.

I never really notice any changes in this section and I wasn't sure how else to voice my opinion. I'm sure there are others who would like to chime in as well.

Could we get a stickied thread that lists all the tuners around? There are at least a couple of threads a week from noobs asking whose the best tuner around and every time people respond with answers. The sticky could also include other helpful information such as recommended body shops, alignment shops, etc.

Also it seems that the moderators want all threads dealing with Vendors to be in their own section, but what I don't get is why is it still called.
Quote:
Tri-State Area Vendor Classifieds
Tri-State Area Local Vendor "IN-STOCK" Sales Only. NO GROUP BUYS!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Is it possible to rename it as the "Tri-State Area Vendors section," instead of calling it a classified sections, which it clearly isn't anymore. I think that's the main reason why so many vendors post threads in the main section and it just gets locked.

What do you guys think?

Have you read the tri-state FAQ? It explains almost everything you just posted. I'll link it for you.

^Yeah, and maybe a poll on it also on what one is the best rather than everyone saying "so and so is good" and a bunch of "+1s"

if i was new and was looking for a dyno tune/tuner...i probably wouldnt look in the faq or vendor directory. thats why you see 10 threads a day pop up asking about "the best tuner in my area"...

Have you even looked closely at the FAQ? You obviously haven't if you're suggesting that thread suitable for what I'm trying to do.

Yea no spotted sticky since there are too many stolen Subies in the Tristate area.

We don't do "stickies" for most things because there could be a whole host of stickies that could be applied. Then we'd have 3/4 of a page of stickies. Sorry, this has been rehashed when we were at member numbers 40,000 or so...

The thread was last updated in 2005, but there's a link in the original post that directs you to the tuner directory, which is well-updated with a list of reputable tuners.

i really dont mind if some questions get asked numerous times. sometimes the answers change. for instance, where to get tuned: shops may close, new ones could open, some change location, the tuner could switch to a different shop or maybe he likes to fart in everyone's car. just my opinion.

Well I'm Pro Stickies... Why not take it to a vote?

If 3/4 of the page was stickes and not moving up and down the page.
It would actually be easier to read?
Also less work for the Mods! To delete random threads..

As for the Vendor forum. I agree the current one is really lame I never understood it because if the AZP would sell anything sold items he would use the regular FS Forum anyways!

my .02 cents!

Only thing about a spotted sticky is that if they are all grouped together, I don't want to read through pages of listings to see if I was spotted or if someone I spotted is on here.
I haven't read the faqs in years but don't see anyone looking that hard to find answers, maybe back in the day but not now!

Huh? If I sell an item in the regular classifieds it's because it's a PERSONAL item as opposed to a shop item. So come down off your high horse there pally.

For the 1000th time. A spotted sticky is not here because of the high theft rate.

As for other stickies, if you have a thread of note that you want to be linked to the threads of note sticky up top, shoot one of the mods a PM and we'll get it done. Very easy to do.

This isn't a democracy, we don't vote on things like that here, sorry if you mistook NASIOC for a democracy.
