OG Evo guy here. Bought my '03 Evo from CarMax in 2004.

Drove it 6 years and traded it in on a new 2010 Evo X GSR. Drove that for 6 years and traded it in on a new '17 WRX Base in 2016. Kept that 50 weeks, and traded it in on an '18 STI Limited in 2017.

Have had the STI 4 years and 12 days. Did a $5k bank transfer today to pay it off.

You guys think YOU have it bad. At least Subaru still makes WRXes. The Evo came and went. The Focus RS was a flash in the pan. The Golf R never got in the game.

The WRX still lives. (At least until the 2022 reveal...)

Back in the OG Evo days we used to meet weekly in a bank parking lot at Westheimer and the Beltway. A Bugeye WRX (STI?) used to drop in on the Evo meets. Anyone remember who that guy was?

"Bugeye" is pretty much all I remember.

It was probably blue. Seemed like back then that all the WRXes were blue, all the Evos were silver, and all the S2000s were yellow.

Really awesome to see fellow TXICers still on here!
I had randomly decided to re-activate my account to look up some Baja stuff, but looks like i'll be sticking around here now. Also left Facebook years and years ago so it is basically lurking around NASIOC, interwebz, or just figure it out myself for info on my cars now lol.

I still have my '02 (not) "Bugeye WRX" and now my '05 Baja STi is my latest pain/project
Great to see the community is still alive after all of these years!

I have officially gone back... (how far back?) Way back....

and it goes a little somethin' like this.

I bought another 2002 WRX, taking me full circle. OG meets gotta happen again soon. (even if it's crashing in on Squidz's Grapevine meets)

cool

I just drove the 06 1518 miles. Car was solid except for hood latch getting gummed up at low-ish temps. Visited relatives and a coupla Forum guys in CoSpgs area.

Any soob-friendly indie repair shops in Arlington or nearby now? I can still wrench, but not really interested in wrenching deep - getting easier to talk my self out of the hard stuff as I age lol!

Wow I booted up my old nasioc account today in preparation for buying a new Impreza and didn’t expect to see a thread with some of the old folks!
I do miss my old red 2.5rs. Hoping my new Impreza Outback Sport will scratch the same itch. Maybe I’ll even see some of you guys around again

I am not still on here (before today my last login was 2018), but I guess I'm OG? I still have my 2001 RS coupe, but it's really just taking up space and collecting dust in my garage.

Yep. Agree, FB really is garbage.
